    There is another definition for dps : dps for the time you were in combat -it is unreasonable to calculate dps for the entire stf since a part of it is spend in full impulse moving from target to target. What we need is a "dummy" like the ones you could get in your ship in TOR , except space based - maybe as a part of a holodeck. Actually I wonder if you can make a custom mission (foundry?) with ships and structures that do not shoot back for the express purpose of measuring dps.

    Having a target that doesn't shoot back isn't a useful metric. I'm sure EVERYBODY could improve their DPS significantly if they didn't have to worry about evading, tanking, or healing enemy return fire. How much damage you can inflict while engaged in actual combat is more relevant since it shows your ship's ability to balance both offense and defense.

    To that end, at least on KDF side there's a nice little measuring stick for this: The federation Starbase 234 in the New Romulus sector. It's a single static target that has substantial shields and hitpoints and shoots back to keep you honest.

    edit;
    Oh. I've been trying out dual heavy cannons with CRF1 and the cannon cooldown reduction doffs. Those guys make a huge difference. Maybe I should try the DEM as suggested by the video? Oh, wait: I didn't buy any dual standard cannons back when they were actually achievable in one lifetime, so I can't do that. Nevermind. :(

    I'm using two blue cannon, a DEM and two Attack Pattern DOFFS on my all DHC/turret vorcha. The damage output is enough to blow Starbase 234 apart easily (well, sadly it won't explode, the mission just finishes). That's something I couldn't archive with a 8 beam galor with FAW/DEM etc.
