Can you only get the spiral wave Dis with dilth - after you get the Galor? Why do you need the Galor?
Was pretty sure that you needed to own the Galor to be able to buy the SWDs with Dil. I might be wrong on that though. I do not own a Galor nor have I ever saved up the 45k Dil each SWD would cost.
The notes from STOwiki say:
"Initially, players could only access these weapons by owning a Cardassian Galor Class Cruiser, otherwise they were unobtainable. As of 22 June 2012, these weapons can be bought from dilithium store for 45,380 Refined dilithium icon.png providing the owner already has a Galor Cruiser. These items come with the [Acc]x2 and [Dmg]x2 suffix, making them a Very Rare weapon, and one of only three Very Rare weapons that have 4 modifiers.
Although this is a hybrid Phaser-Disruptor weapon, a [Console - Tactical - Phaser Relay] does not affect it. This is likely due to the fact that this weapon does Disruptor damage, and only includes the Phaser proc, while a Phaser Relay boosts Phaser energytype damage.
As of 9 August 2012, the damage of these weapons have been increased so they are competitive with other equivalent Mk XII weapons at level 50, including an additional [Dmg] modifier."
SWD is only available with the Galor. Yes, once you have unlocked the Galor, you can use Dilithium to purchase more. Not sure if you are able to then use the beams on other ships.
But do the SWD that you can purchase come in dual beam?
And if you had unlimited dilth and EC in S7 what weapon type would you get for both- KDF and Fed
As far as I recall they only come in beam arrays.
IMHO
The best weapons and reason:
MKXI purple [ACC]x3 or MKXII purple [ACC]x3 or MKXII purple [ACC]x2 [CrtD]
These are the weapon categories:
- (I have marked in green the favoured in PvP.)
- (I have marked in red the ones that have highest potential for dmg, but lower modifiers e.g. antiproton [ACC]x3 just can't be found I think.
- (I have marked in yellow the ones that sometimes pleasantly surprise me.)
- The rest, I'm undecided and have yet to be impressed.
Polaran - Polaron weapons have a 2.5% chance to reduce all power levels of the target by -25.
Phaser - Phasers have a 2.5% chance to disable 1 random subsystem for 5 seconds.
Disruptors - Disruptors have a 2.5% chance to cause -10% Damage Resistance for 15 seconds.
Plasma - Plasma weapons have a 2.5% chance to apply a non-stacking plasma fire DoT.
Tetryon - Tetryon weapons have a 2.5% chance to cause extra damage shields.
Antiproton - Antiproton weapons have a natural +20 Critical Severity on top of any additional modifier suffixes the weapons come with.
Plasma-Disruptor Hybrid - 10% Damage Resistance Debuff on a target for 15 seconds, and can also apply a plasma DoT Debuff.
Retrofit Forward Phaser Bank - +2% chance of causing a critical hit and causes extra damage.
Polarized Tetryon - 4 times greater probability to damage all shields than a regular array (10% vs 2.5%).
Spiral Wave Disruptors - have a chance to reduce the target's damage resistance and has a chance to damage a targets subsystem. Only found with [Acc]x2 [Dmg]x2 modifiers.
Phased Polaron- This weapon has a 2.5% chance to reduce all power levels of the target by -25, as well as a 2.5% chance to cause extra damage shields. They also have a +2% chance of causing a critical hit.
Phased Tetryon- Phased Tetryon weapons have a natural 2.5% chance to reduce enemy shields by a variable amount, on top of any additional modifier suffixes the weapons come with.
Polarized Disruptors - combines the properties of two separate energy types: Polarons and Disruptors.
You can make do w/less ACC and boost CritH or CritD if you have a means of lowering a target's defenses and/or use a Vet ship in Tactical mode.
Also, generally speaking post Season 7 there may be adjustments to ACC, DMG, CritH, CritD based on a Tribble post by a Dev. It won't happen in Season 7 and may not happed, but you could end up spending a lot of currency on items you don't need to be effective.
For new weapons specific to Season 7 you can check on tribble for Romulan Reputation weapons, but I'm not grinding Reputation on a test server. If they want to let us test the balance of the reputation bonuses they need to give all players access to max reputation and an ability to respec reputation on the Test server.
The Borg proc weapons are going away. I don't know if it's been decided how if at all the current MKXII Borg weapons will be changed. You'll need to check the Tribble forum to see if it's been resolved in a post somewhere. Potentionally, you could try hoarding these in various Energy Types in case they're useful to very good after Season 7 change.

Thanks for the heads-up mate. That is good to know.
the acc mod is incredibly over rated. its only useful on a build that makes 0 effort to control movement, and is on a team that makes 0 effort to control movement. controlling your opponents movement, and having a mix of crit h and crit d weapons, deal so much more damage then a bunch of acc mods will, its shocking.
thanks for the info - so if you can immobilize your target - you can forget ACC and focus on CritH and CritD
Depends, you can at times still have a decent defense rating while being slowed down some.
Also, I forgot to mention the KHG 3 part MEF gives AoE defense bonus (don't know if it stacks yet or not). So, ACC may be needed more if the KHG 3 part does stack.
Also, haven't explored all the MEF counters, but would guess they're the same as cloak eg TB, Aux Nuking, EWP, etc. There maybe enough of these that ACC isn't such a big deal.

as long as your a spike damage dealer i should say. over time damage will do more to a stuck person sure, but the point is to hit them the hardest with weapons that will crit the hardest wile their defense it at their lowest. damage over time dealers cant exploit this as well, but its quite easy to chain hold with the right abilities leaving your opponent stuck for quite a wile

Think about the innate procs.
Think about the Reputation procs.
Think about the gear change procs.
Think about the new gear procs.
Buy the Galor for EC.
Buy the additional SWDs for Dil.

Also are these only single beam weapons? Who in pvp runs a beam boat?

And beam boats are very much alive in PvP.

Thanks for the heads-up mate. That is good to know.
The best weapons for pvp have never ever come from Dilithium or for Chips or anything else.
The best PvP weapons come from drops... there for the best place to get them will the exchange as always.
Or from lockbox weapon types.....
P Disruptors with Accx2... or Crthx2
and anything else with accx3 or crthx3... or any combo of the 2 really.
Not sure why anyone would use anything else for PvP or PvE really.
