That's not the true problem here. The real problem, and I've seen this many times, is when a new or inexperienced player tries to play a fleet mission, says in team chat that they are new and don't know what to do, and they are told to, and I quote: "Learn to play, Noob!".

I try to help, give them tips such as "Kill only the Sabatours", "Make sure the transports don't die", "stick together and watch", etc. Or in STF's, giving them step by step instructions, etc.

Regretfully no matter how helpful I've been I find half the people who say they are new don't end up listening any ways.

    Agreed.

Just now, I've done two failed runs in a row.

Both times, a minimal level player showed up.
In the second run, there were two of them.

It's not exactly fair to ask VAs to work harder to compensate for the lack of ability of a low level ship.
Especially when we take a cooldown for the failure of the group as a whole.

I'm actually seriously thinking of level checking each player now, if they're not RA minimum, I'm going to leave and try again with a different group.

Note, I'm not being Elitist, the simple truth of the matter is that a LT level ship will never match the power of a RA level ship.

Also, there's another problem that is causing difficulty.
It's rare, but every now and then, I end up in a fleet action with a T0 base.
The ones I named the skeletons.

And well, inevitably, these fail as well, because the base had no ability whatsoever to assist you in battle.
It has no weapons, no buffs, nothing.
    It's just a placeholder.

And yes, I admire those who want to try to build their bases, but the painful truth is, if you haven't gotten at least a t1 by now, you're never going to catch up.

It is fine the way it is. If they made it only people of same level can do missions then lower level people would wait ages to get enough people to play those missions. I have played in lower levels and all the missions that require same level take much longer to get going.

This happened to me today and I think it illustrates perfectly the folly of allowing newbies in with the battle hardened Veterans.

For the first time in my experience, the Borg attacked the starbase.
And given that I'd learned an hour ago, there was a Siege Breaker Accolade, I was quite interested in defeating this alert and starting work on the Borg Siege Breaker Accolade.

But it all came crashing down, because there was a player who had gotten into the queue at minimum possible level and wasn't ready to fight the Borg.
I'm actually surprised we made it to the Siege Group arrival at all!

The Borg overwhelmed us and I lost my chance at starting off the Borg Siege Breaker Accolade.

I'm now taking the sentiment, if you're not ready to fight alongside VA level players, don't.
    It's as simple as that.

I mean, it's not like the levelling process is that slow you can't be RA in a just over a day and then you're good enough to play with the big ships.

And also, it's not really fair to the other VAs to take a slot that could have been occupied by a RA ship and expect them to have to compensate for the comparitive weakness of your ship.

And for the record, when I get around to levelling my next character, I will indeed practice what I preach.
None of these characters will enter Fleet Mark actions until they are RA minimum and properly geared up for the task at hand.
