maybe this has something to do with FOMM and all the other hull debuffs being nerfed on tribble. FOMM does a -29 debuff now, pretty sure it used to do about -40
as if those insta cleanable by TT debuffs needed a fricking nerf too.
I don't know why they would decide to just nerf debuffs like that.

not tac buffed its about ~1900. those consoles seem to make a HUUUUUUUGE difference. wish they made as big a difference on EWP3's damage. fully tac buffed and with 3 partical consoles i can get 1200 dot though, cant recall what it was without all the consoles
i wish torps were a viable weapon in game
if tbr can deal that much damage, i really want to try out a 2 AtB nebula build now with TBR3. just... DAMN
You haven't seen the current TBR in action, have you?
I have. Both as Tac/RSV and Tac/BoP. Spent most of the night playing with it.
It needs nerfing. Tac buffed is 3-6 pulses, target dies without PH. Double TBR can be rolled with 10 seconds of downtime between them. PH can't keep up with that as far as I understand it.
There's every likelihood that, at this point, it would/will/can cause the game to turn into "Do I PH and TBR, or TBR and wait for PH, or, oh, I got TBR'd and died now. Dang." It sticks so far out that it really, really is wacky overpowered, especially in light of the way hull healing works. A lot of things still need attention, but you can add this power to list.
I don't really want it nerfed into the ground for damage, but it's waaay to strong at the moment.
Hi there. Kinda new on the forum but I'd like to give my 2c on the TBR.
Yesterday, I tried my brel with TBR3. I put 3x XII particle gens on the ship with Aux to Batt to lower my aux for low repulse. With the consoles, Brel cloak, Alpha, GDF and Tactical Fleet, I sat at about 12k per pulse. Fire on My Mark and the Grav. Anchor on the 3pc Omega both give a decent debuff. I've blown up ships in 2 pulses. This thing is op.
Obviously, the cooldowns on the abilities is high, but still, unbuffed it sits at about 6k per pulse. Still quite potent.
you guys are saying they "broke" this ability recently. Do these "breaks" happen often? Seems like having to shift your build on a regular basis to deal with things like this instead of maximizing your build is something cryptic would jump on top of right away. Doesn't seem "fun" to have to put PH on every build due to one broken ability

In the short run BFI, Aux2Damp, Kinetic resist consoles may help as well as PH. Not sure about the Jem set BFI attribute. Also, you can try and outrun them.
Edit: There's a max number of objects TBR effects. I hate to say it, but spam may also help.

Me, Trinity and Pax from TRH did a recording regarding this. My poor carrier went through some hull stress. YES, TBR in its current state needs a fix, and quick!

Happens often. Mostly because Cryptic undervalues the value of feedback / bug reporting that they can get from pvp community.
If Cryptic did listen to some folks here instead giving them forum bans, stuff like this would rarely happen.
"Cryptic Studio’s Jack Emmert (2010): Microtransactions are the biggest bunch of nonsense. I like paying one fee and not worrying about it – like my cellphone. The world’s biggest MMO isn’t item based, even though the black market item GDP is bigger than Russia … microtransactions make me want to die.”

It's kind of funny - because I've talked about using TBR to push a target away from a healer or push the healer away from the group. I would 3 or rarely 6 it, never run Part consoles, and it worked pretty well in that regard - subnuking the PH/APO, etc, etc. TBR+EM+Eng Battery - and you could drive a person away from their support pretty well.
Well, 9 it - add the Part consoles - then do the TBR+EM+Eng Battery... and well, you just kill them... meh.
I hope that when they address this - they address it from the latter and not the former (so it's not a case that you need to 9 it and run the consoles just to get what was at the 3-6) - the 99+ is where it's broken.
I would give it the same treatment as phaser point console. I would bring the dmg back to the original values (fix the particle scaling) but improve the dmg against small targets x10 and frigates x3. Thus It can be used as counter to danoobes and such except for it usual control role.

It should not be possible to destroy a ship using armor consoles and brace for impact through shields in a single salvo.
Do not seek logic in STO, you will fail. By same logic it should not be possible by small dunooobe shuttle to tractor a cruiser of such mass like Galaxy.

I'm looking at this from the perspective of a player in an online game. From that perspective, this "bug" or "glitch" or "exploit" has ruined PvP balance. Arenas are full of teams running tractor beam repulsors as their main source of damage. Shields are useless. Even with polarize hull and brace for impact, there's not much chance of surviving more than one person using this ability at once.
lol TBR+ no win = got to wave 9 first try with orions in a couple of temporal ships and MVAMs.
with the right ships we could have TBR'ed even harder and no doubt won the thing.
Good strategy! Bringing PVE to it to get devs attention. How cunning !

You must have new shiny stuffs...for a price.
GW is pretty potent with a Tac.
FBP is downright killer. On my MVAE, with low Aux, I can get 1.1 damage return with FBP 2 and a 100% GDF.
29? I see -64 on holodeck. A nerf to -29 hurts.
R.I.P

Dramatic statement is dramatic.
There are plenty of other game breaking problems right now, TBR3 is hardly more of a problem than some of the glaring P2W abilities.
If anything it could get toned down a bit, but yeah, lets nerf more science abilities to the ground, great idea.

My hull was chewed through faster than I was even able to switch targets.
Definitely, not working as intended....
