Did i miss the post about Conversion rates for EDC and salvage, or has Cryptic not posted this info yet? Seems like i read somewhere a couple weeks ago it was going to be posted soon. Being that test weekend is coming up, i would hope they post this info before then.
Nope Vesta stats can be posted *subject to change [which won't happen because of time restraints]. But posting: How we plan to grab your Dilithium reserves, clearly requires a more fine-tuned approach.
A dev posted about a week ago - The info will not be posted because it will be a player by player basis for conversion.
I can't remember the reasoning exactly, but it was something like some people having enough EDC (etc) to max out the tier 5 stuff under their old flat rate conversion, I believe.
In other words, I just sold it all for Dilithium, and will probably miss out on some super duty officer they haven't mentioned yet

are you telling me they are going to convert every single account by hand. Or do you think they are going to use a formula, and are just repeating the bad practice of the F2P conversion with not telling people how much of their saved-up in game currencies are going to get vaporized.
... It is fair warning that since those stores are going away, you have the opportunity to cash it all out for Dilithium or Gear now. Once the conversion code is in place, you can even log into Tribble and see how many Omega Marks and Borg Neural Processors and Dilithiium you'll get if you don't so that you are well informed before you make that decision....
If you choose to wait and not spend it, then we will convert it in our best attempt to be fair and equitable to give you similar purchasing power in the new system, but only after you have obtained the proper rank....
I could have sworn i read a post about 2 weeks ago, someone had started asking if they should keep their salvage and EDC, or sell it all off. I also thought Branflakes had stated, to wait untill the conversion rates were posted before deciding. I dont remember drinking that day, so i dont think im mistaken, but i guess i could be.

Gotcha, thanks. I guess we'll have to figure the rate out ourselves. Just hope that the container i ll receive at Rep T5 will actually have a description of what is in it, since hitting T5 in just under 1h is simply impossible.
I could probably fish out a quote on that too Havam, but it suffices to say, that the container will apparently have the amounts listed in it's description before we open it (not that we can open it).
Interestingly as well, there was also a mention by Borticus about a possible token that was/is or may be developed which would unlock T5 for players on tribble - allowing testing of reputation powers. I wonder if that will feature in the weekend tribble test.

Thanks for this info, however i do not know how to access the test server, or even if a Silver player can. So i guess ill have to try to find someone who has access to the test server, that will post the rates for the rest of us.

How do I access one of the Public Test Servers and transfer a character to it?
- Read through the information on the page and click the 'Sign up!' button at the bottom
- Select a character you wish to transfer from the "Character" drop-down menu and select which Test Server you want from the "Server" drop-down menu
- Click 'Copy Character'
- Open the STO launcher, log in with your Account Name/Password, and select either Tribble or Redshirt from the drop-down menu located at the lower left of the launcher

If you go to the top of this forum and click on My Account , on the left hand side it should say Transfer Character - that will copy a chosen character onto Tribble for you

u can. im a silver and i have toons over on tribble. go to My account and click character transfer. it will bring up a screen where u choose the toons u want to transfer, then u will need to patch up ur game to the most up to date tribble patch, which is should do automatically i believe.
*Me*Why don't you just step away from the weapons console. You and I both know that you couldn't hit that cube, even if it was right in front of us. *Junior Tactical Officer* But sir the cube IS right in front of us. *Me* EXACTLY! Its right in front of us and you still missed it! Just step away from the console.
Can't help but wonder why they won't post the formula/algorithm for the wider community to see, rather than the smaller subset that will take the time to patch up Tribble and transfer a character.
I hope some enterprising and mathematically astute player(s) will start up a thread to record details on the amounts of Marks and Processors players get converted from EDCs, protos etc

It is probably because they have a sliding scale for the conversion so one range you ge one reward, a different range you get a different reward. They likely do not want to share because if you knew that conversion you could find a spot where you could cash out some without changing the amounts they and converted to.
An easier example: Say, if conversion X is given for anywhere between 50 to 100 EDCs, then if you have 78 EDCs you know you could cash up to 28 of them out without changing what you will receive when it is converted.
That and the conversion system has to basically have every possible combination scenario of EDCs, Salvage, and the various M.A.C.O./Honor Guard/Omega tokens, so it could be fairly confusing.

I'd prefer to just auto-convert in some ways... except that the auto-conversion places the converted materials in a box that can't be accessed until you hit T5.

Dan Stahl has assured us that we'll be able to try it out on Tribble before S7 goes live, I suspect given we're due a patch today before the test weekend we'll see it today.
Try it out, see what you reckon. I hate to say it but as they're doing the whole 'can't give an exact formula' system like they did with the Dilithium conversion I fear we're going to get done over, but time will tell.

The only reason I can think of for them to do this is that they have a diminishing returns formula, and don't want people hoarding the optimal amount of tokens, then selling the rest off for dilithium before the conversion. Dan Stahl keeps responding with "You'll be able to see how much stuff you'll get on Tribble, so you can make an informed decision!"
The problem is that we can't make a truly informed decision unless we know how those numbers came about...

There's one way we can do this as a community. Copy characters. Compare results. Reverse engineer the formula.
I need to know if proto tech converts 1:1, I may let crooktic convert my proto tokens if I'm assured mk12 gear once I level-up in the new game.

Yeah, I'm open minded on this, at least we can transfer over, test, and use Dilithium as a cash in if we need to.
Given I don't have the MK XII ground set on my main though I'll probably transfer over and convert.
Ok, well...i hopped on tribble, and the store is not operational. Do we have to reach tier 5 before we can even access this new store? Is that where we should be able to see the conversion? Do they expect us to grind up to tier 5 in order to even see what the conversion will be?

got anything to back that up with, how do we know that it is not going to get changed. Didn't Stahl himself promise a post on this
