Grinding up and completing my XI weapon and gear set for both cruiser and escort so that I'll be right up at T4, and only needing the amount I earn from doing the rep system for T5 gearing.
Cashing out half of everything I have left behind. I'll save the other half as a gamble for if STO makes it worthwhile during the conversion. If not, its a smaller loss.
"Last Engage! Magical Girl Origami-san" is in print! Now with three times more rainbows.
Was that thing ever in an STF? As far as I can remember, it was a reward for the PvE mission "Assimilation"or some such from the day it came out, meant as a tease for the STF gear back in the day.
Now, if I'm wrong, feel free to slap me, but if I'm right, LOL you didn't earn that console "the hard way" unless you royally suck at PvE.
I must have been thinking of how the set has been nerfed so the other pieces I worked so hard for have less value as I can no longer run a strong shield.
Good thing I owed the people who helped me through the horrible cure and helped them through KA and got the shield already.
I've been doing nothing but ISE these days. Its the only one where me in my advanced escort can carry the team to the optional if everyone is being slghtly idiotic. The rest? Either no optional (CSE), or outright fail (KASE).
This approach is netting me lots of random salvage that I no longer need, but a simple stress-free run of 10-15 mins every time. Already spending some on kitting out a cruiser with AP beams that don't seem to exist on the exchange.

I hate to write this. However, what I have done is delete my characters and the game client itself after giving everything of value I had to fleet pals. Then, I started hunting for a new MMORPG to occupy my time with while keeping an eye on developments here hoping just maybe that their plans might change. That?s my season seven preparations in a nutshell... O.o
Running around in circles on ESD like a space-chicken with it's head cut-off screaming like a madman.
Wait...preparing for Season 7?
That's easy. Hoping that my fleet gets their tier 4 Fabricator ready for the Fed side, and tier 3 shipyard for the KDF side ready, and possibly the tier 4 and 3 respectively Starbases on both sides.
I'm also making sure to do as many recruitment missions and such on as many toons as possible, and will probably be buying a large amount of at least common fleet DOFFs before as well.
Building up a large cache of dilithium without going overboard on grinding it out on top of that.
And let's not forget, that we'll all need to make sure and...
Fasten all seatbelts! Seal all entrances and exits! Close all shops in the mall! Cancel the three-ring circus! And secure all animals in the zoo!
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
What am I doing to prepare, nothing, Devs shouldn't punish players for playing their game, so I'm chilling with another MMO for now and keeping my eye here to see if magic happens.

If you've really done that... don't look back and go. On the off chance things aren't bad you'll feel terrible, and if they do get worse you'll STILL feel terrible.
What I'm doing to prepare for Season 7? Getting in my shuttlecraft and getting ready to watch my beloved starship burn in the atmosphere.
Seriously, given all these middle fingers from Cryptic with Season 7, STO is good as over. Unless they seriously start making backsteps, people will be leaving by droves.
I honestly feel sorry for those who bought the recent Lifetime Subscription.
In practice, my 4 alts are already at what I consider "reasonable" maturity; Space gear is Mk XII VR except for rare consoles, ground gear is Mk XI STF sets, ships are all endgame variants (Armitage, Varanus, Bortas'qu and Pegh'qu). Most are sporting lockbox gear - spiral wave disruptors, tachyokinetic consoles etc. So the only thing on my shopping list is a Fleet Armitage. Sure, there is better gear but my lack of playing skill is more of an issue .
So I'll wait to see what happens with the conversion. I have specifically avoided grinding for most Mk XII STF gear because the fail rates on the missions were so high; the new system may actually make them obtainable over time. But I'm not planning to spend weeks of my life specifically grinding for helmets.
I am also pretty neutral on the Borg set nerf - sure, I use the console / engine combo on a lot of ships, but it's got a lot of merit even without the hull repair proc.
But all my alts are to some extent themed, and that helps; I ignore a lot of lockbox and Romulan gear because it simply doesn't fit.
BUT... where I might now have considered creating a fifth toon (a Vulcan crew in a D'kyr seemed attractive) I will niow save my efforts to upgrade my existing ones, when the Omega Reputation system comes online.
Nice one Cryptic, you've convinced me not to spend on a new alt .

haven't canceled my sub to this yet, though haven't played for over a week now. saw what was going on in tribble, the posts from cryptic in forums...no motivation whatsoever to even bother logging in. probably won't cancel my sub until i see if S7 goes live as is.
after that it's good bye to pwe and cryptic, last pwe owned game i'm playing, only cryptic game i've bothered with.
been playing mmog's a long time (since ~96'), every genre...S7 has massive fail written all over it.

I think I'll use what time is left before the Grindpocalypse to stock up on the stuck that's being nerfed to the ground before taking a (permanent) vacation from PWE when season 7 goes live. Too bad there's no space MMO I can replace STO with, but them's the breaks.
(no, SWTOR is not a replacement. They're going f2p but their f2p matrix is even worse if you can believe it!)
Doing the same thing as the other 99% of the playerbase. Casually playing
Dropping STO for Terra because of grinding is like starting smoking because alcohol is not good for your health :-P
Tera
was already playing concurrently...and the graphics, game play, actual active combat is fun. the grind is less actually like this progression is quest based, ie: you advance faster doing storyline and side quests than just field grinding. player skill > gear, also somewhat like sto. while you can't be too far behind you can still get by if your skill/knowledge is high even if gear is not the top uberest.
and it doesn't have the the tragedy of what will be S7, only seen that kind of thing in one other mmo (black prophecy), it failed. it was designed that way from the beginning though...someones 'bright' idea to squeeze out more from players in an f2p.
BP had a lock out system during upgrades, you could only chat while an upgrade was in progress, doing or trying to do anything else would reset the upgrade timer...of course there was a CS item that negated that timer >.> along with lack of content, PvP ganking even playing in beta i knew it was going to be a short lived game on full release.
they also didn't listen to the player base. evidently, to most mmog devs, players have the IQ of rocks when it comes to game mechanics, what will work and what won't. you'd think that they'd actually listen more considering we're the sods they want to PLAY their game.
sto's version is pretty much the same, you're locked out of anything that costs dilithium unless you spend a lot of time grinding...or buy zen and sell it on the exchange. also wanting everyone in fleets, trashing smaller fleets even further, 20x cost on random doffs...(curtails imminent rant) meh no point getting stressed, games are supposed to be fun, not stress, not work. fun

HOARDING EVERYTHING for the APOCALYPSE!
Borg console was never in a STF EVER...it was always part of Assimilation mission, which was pretty easy compared to the old STF's
I am running battle drills and getting security ready for the mass looting that will go on in DS9 and ESD.

game looks awsome aye prob gonna invest myself
Trying to stock up on high level doffs as much as possible before they start charging absurd amounts dilithium to upgrade them.
Also, hoarding enough dilithium for reputation grinds so it doesn't become a chore later on to keep up.
