I tried raising this point, and have highlighted that a Dev has spoken of mistakes been made in balancing projects against ingame avaliability (Bartender Project) during the original development. There is talk of revising some projects and a project funded by lucky drops and purchasing from the Exchange seems to be in need of a fix.

Thanks Cryptic for this project and for the requirement of 1000 taspar eggs!
And for all of hundreds of thousands EC I made selling worthless cardassian food...:P

I just read about this... either add them to replicator permissions (which is annoying) or change it all together. Its pure stupidity really, why does it take so long to know this is a bad move? They could have fixed this long before anyone found out.

Better start saving the hearts and eggs, I guess. We're still in Tier II =/

    Yeah, balance would be nice.

    But that's about it, nice.

Fixing. Let's do that, more fixing, less breaking, please thanks Cryptic.

Taspar Eggs are available with a Purple Cardassian Chef through the replicator. Problem is that they are worth 500 million on the exchange. Not even sure how people are going to purchase the Klingon Hearts of Targ at a consistent pace.

Maybe the Chefs and Bartenders should be changed so Klingon Heart of Targ, Romulan Ale, and Dosi Rotgut are available. Having a purple Romulan Bartender gives out cheap Romulan Ale, purple Klingon Chefs gives out cheap Klingon Heart of Targ, and purple Dosi Bartenders give out cheap Dosi Rotgut.

The only other solution is reduce the insane requirements by a ton.

That's one big nasty omelet!

I think I've only ever owned ~20 eggs and ~30 Hearts during my entire 3+yrs of playing of STO. Not sure what the Devs are smoking/injecting/huffing on this one. And the freakin chef doesn't even have anything above what your replicator has! What a joke.
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

Whats going to happen is that some fleet finally gets this project done and the day after will be a change on tribble that reduces the bartender and chef projects to 50 for both requirements.

I very much doubt anyone will ever get this mission done. In my time of playing this game i've only ever seen '1' Taspar Egg which is currently in my hold. I don't remember how i got it, or where or when, the point is it's one of the rarest items in game. To expect fleet members to find a thousand of the things is utter lunacy, don't even start me on the 'Heart of Targ' issue. What idiot thought this mission up? Oh yeah, someone who hasn't played the game obviously...

The whole mission probaly relies on... hm, a fleet can have, what, 400 members? chances are each of them will have found 2 or 3 of those thinsg at some point and neatly stored it away...

Guys if that chef doesn't add anything new... C'mon.
They can ask a million of eggs for all we care.

Targ hearts are still insanely overpriced.
Just because there is no way to replicate them like cardassian eggs. Hoping cryptics fix this thing... :D

As of right now, taspar eggs are only 9k each on exchange. Guess everyone who heard about cardassian chefs got themselves one and the price war fixed the supply issue. Targ hearts are still insanely overpriced.

Someone just bought the single egg I put on exchange for 150000 EC.

Not sure if this is better or worse than the 20 Romulan Ale that I sold for 1 million EC.

I figured no one would ever pay 150K EC for a single Cardassian Tasper egg, I guess I am wrong, very wrong. It was just a place holder for my inventory now when our fleet reaches Tier 4 Starbase (just finished the Tier 4 Shipyard), I won't have my egg to contribute! :(

The mods generally consider it bad form to post in threads that have been silent for a long period of time... better to start a new thread at that point.

I thought they got rid of the silly requirements for the chef and bartender, I know I was very annoyed that my 50+ dosi rotgut and romulan ale became worthless over night =(

It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.

They did. My fleet purposefully held off on doing the chef for that reason until they changed it.

Though I think that Romulan Ale does have usage in some DOFF missions.
