Nice post. I already have MarkXII MACO/Omega/KHG on three characters (with their optional costume unlocks), but this system sounds like it is easy enough to complete and kind of worth it.

8k dilithium for 2 rep projects for tier 5 is not a whole lot. Sure, it could be better, but I have 30K+ on each of those characters and I always convert extra dilithium to zen. And since STF's will still give dilithium you just need to find a good team for elites or do space normals because they are so easy.

I have no qualms with these changes ONLY because STF's still give dilithium as a reward.

I must remind everyone that since this info is on tribble, all info is subject to change. I seriously doubt we don't get a choice in which Tier 5 power we choose. I will update the info as necessary.

Yea, just logged onto tribble for the first time and it looks very polished in my opinion. At first I was very skeptical, but after seeing this and then how the system should be, I have no issues with it. Pretty straight forward.

One question though, do those abilities unlock only when doing an STF/Romulan event or will they be active at all times?

I assume the powers are active all the time. Although a couple are only useful in certain situations like slower borg adaptation.

    Thanks! :D

Very curious to see how this will be finalized for Season 7 (plus, let's face it, how it'll change after season 7 launches - no game survives contact with players).

I like some of them passive buff you get for levelling up. Some of them look a lot like the borg set buffs...

As with all MMOs, all the good stuff will get nerfed. Hard.

    T5 requirement
    40.000/60 per STF =666 STFs
Add the cost of weapon and equipment you still need over 1000 STFs to quip one of you characters.

Not sure about needing 40,000 Marks since I can only see Tier 0 projects, but the 19 Mark project gives 2000 Reputation not 60 Reputation.

    Straight from Borticus.
No, it really isn't. Here's the numbers you're not seeing:

A full set of Mk XII Gear costs 3000 Marks, 15 Elite Marks, and ~100,000 Dilithium.

Attaining Tier 5 in Omega Rep costs 1,686 Marks, 0 Elite Marks, and ~80,000 Dilithium.

People that have already obtained a full set of the Mk XII gear of their choosing no longer have the need to spend the currency listed in above. In fact, along the way to obtaining that gear, it's incredibly likely that they've picked up a good chunk of EDCs, Salvage and Tech, all of which they have no use for (because they already have their desired gear), and will all be converted into Omega Marks which now have a purpose for them, should they choose to use them.

Their extra 'reward' is the fact that the system will cost them less. Considering the prices involved here, that's not something to be ignored.

So it is ~80 STFs and ~23 days of dilithium grinding for tier 5 and a set. Sounds reasonable.

Yes that is a lot more reasonable than I was made to think.

To be honest, this seems less painful than the STF grinds I've heard of a lot of people going through to get Mk XII gear. It seems like it's fairly chronic that people grind hundreds of STFs without getting complete sets.

Given how I'm almost out of Dilithium because of Starbase Projects right now, I rather grind STFs for that slight chance to get a FREE Tech drop than working HARD for months and blow it for a set that's likely to be obsolete in a few months.

As for the Items we get from the Omega Reputation:

    Where is the Borg Bat'elth?
Where is the Borg Medical Kit?
    Where are the Borg DOFFs?
Where are the Borg Engineer and Tactical Kits?

More like 4000, not 40k. This is how false information is spread and people freak out. I consider myself and elite STFer and I am a vice admiral in an almost tier 3 fleet, and I have no issues with the reputation system. Dilithium cost for small visuals in a fleet are insanely overpriced, not this system.

    Tell me about it.

It's going to take around three months to max out the tiers.

I've already decided to ignore my klink toons and I was seriously thinking about ignoring my federation science toon. Now I'm starting to wonder if I should drop my main engineer or my main tactical, since it's becoming less feasible to keep both going.

Of course, that means a new character will need to skip straight to MK XII and will not be using MK X or MK XI along the way while you run STFs to get there.

    Starter set?

The borg set now costs dilithium as well.

[Borg] Weapons? Those also cost dilithium.

So you'll be running those 80 STFs in whatever gear you got from Episodes - no [borg] weapons, no free omega item, no 5 EDC borg engine for fast travel around sectors. No 10 EDC (5 elite missions in the old system) for 2 piece borg set.

Or you could buy some of that a long the way but now the number of STFs and days of refining will increase.

Can somebody please verify that the enhanced shield system from the Romulan tier 2 is broken? I only got 500 extra shields per facing on my Defiant.

Without the tier skill I had 10.104 and with the skill I have 10.645 per facing.

My understanding about the skill system is that it is not linear. Having 99 in Starship Shields System and going to 129 won't have as much benefit as going from 0 to 30. Going from 0 to 30 might give 2000 extra shields per facing while going from 90 to 129 will only give 500 extra shields per facing. Don't take the 2000 extra shields per facing as fact. It is just an example.

This sounds about right (as Starkaos mentioned in his post). That's part of the reason I didn't pick that passive myself.

And the people that did choose that passive feel screwed. Should have taken that crit increase..

But just to make sure, you both say this is working as intended?

I rather see people throw numbers (That they know to be fact) around then "as far as I understand it" and BS some numbers.

When you are on the Space dock looking at your ship stats it is without your skills as captian

Vesta with Maco XII = 9128

According to http://home.comcast.net/~amicus/Skill%20Point%20Effects.htm 99 Shield skill gets you 30%....it shows a linear plot when I graph it so I predict that 129 is about a 39% boost (or another 9% from your base shields added on)

    9128*1.39=12687.92

outside of space dock flying around I show 12697

+30 shield skill only got me an additional 821.5, but it was still a 9% increase from base (6.9% over what you had before) AND it was in fact linear

Why did the Defiant get 500? because its shields just suck that much a .9 Vs a 1.35 mod 821*.9/1.35=547.7, but it is still a 9% increase.

***when you start factoring in shield max consoles you end up with base*(skill+console) so if you have 20% from console and 39% from skill it would be base*(1.59)=buffed shields
