Training Bridge Officers

I have been for a little while and I am having some problems when it comes to training my BOFFs.

As an example. I am a Tactical Captain who has 6 ranks in the skill "Starship Energy Weapons" it says that if I have 6 ranks I can train my bridge officers in "Cannon Rapid Fire III" but when I go to the skill trainer it isn't on the list of skills I can teach to my BOFFs. Neither is "Attack Pattern Omega III" which is another skill I should be able to train.

I am sure I am doing something wrong, I just can not figure it out.

Any help would be appreciated.

    This is because you cannot use the Skill Trainer Vendor to teach character trained skill. Instead, your character has to train them, using the 'Train' pull-down menu located on your character's 'Paper Doll' page..
