Whatever happened to the Defiant IP upgrade?

Was looking forward to a show accurate Defiant, but aside from the quad cannons (which are useless as you can only use 1 per ship so you have to gimp your DPS to look 'canon') our 'tough little ship' seems to have fallen by the wayside again.
Has this been put in the 'not gonna make money so not gonna make' pile that alot of the good ideas from pre-F2P seemed to have ended up on?
