nest part is, its almost completely identical to the fed version except it has a battle cloak. it only has slightly less shields (the fed has a .9 mod for shields)

it does blow though that anyone with a life time sub will get these ships reguardless of how long theyve played.

essentlally theyre selling these ships for 250$-300$.

    way to go cryptic -_-

Now instead of people buying 500 dollars worth of EC to buy Jem'Hadars they are buying Lifetime subscriptions.

I guess they save a couple of hundred bucks at least?

With the LTSub actually on sale as well - it actually starts to look kind of tempting when you consider everything...

that or as soon as you buy the lifetime you get access.

YEP you buy the lifetime and you get access to all the perks the moment you buy the lifetime.

the lockbox ships are still king, this 1000 day ship only have 9 consoles and the rumored "next tier" has been mentioned by dstahl, weither its just a level cap increase or what who knows, but i wouldnt doubt there being a new tier of ships too.

Imo, it'll be the best KDF TAC escort/raider option including fleet ships given its flexibility, damage potential, and BC. It's well worth the loss of a console slot. I'd have to see what the regen drain ability is like, but I think it likely gives Sci's another option in addition the B'rel and Carrier.

Even comparing it to the Jem it'd be interesting to see the damage potential difference between a 5 Tac console Jem and the 4 Tac console w/BC and +30 ACC built in which makes +crit H/D proc weapons more viable. I just think it's too soon to sell this ship so short.

Regarding the lifer/sub time issue, I'm not affected since I've had a lifer account from the beginning. But, to me it seems only little worse than the normal Z-store p2w (flag ship sets etc), and still not as bad as the gambling boxes and the lobi store.

From a stat point of view, its on par with the Temporal vessels. Both sets of ships have universal stations to mix and match to your taste/build.

No innate targeting or sensor analysis, but can load cannons, without the extra power to weapons power (+5 when in tac mode, instead of +15 like an escort).

I'm surprisingly optimistic about these veteran ships..and not because I'll have them tomorrow (lifer since before launch)

    Oooh Transformer ships...

Must resist...student budget...They will never get me! Never!

The day Cryptic makes me a happy science officer is the day I subscribe.

The +30 targetting looks so OP. Plus Tachyon-RSP

Vet rewards were always about money. It is 1000 days of paying a subscription not 1000 days of playing.
Paying for a life account is the same as paying for 1000 days subscription at one time therefore you don't have to wait the 1000 days on top of that.

well ive come to the conclusion that these vet ships are the best ships in the game if your intention is to get kills. but it can also be the worst escort if not build properly. i've only seen 1 or 2 'good' ones, all of which i can kill easily, and the rest are legendary terabad.

you cant really treat this like an escort, its the poorest turner by far, but if you think of it as a battle cruiser like the fleet vorcha or ktinga its great. that means holds and disables, shutting down enemy movement so your turn rate isn't a factor. when they are held you can hit them with full escort firepower. you set them up and knock them down in a way no other escort can, without taking a hit to firepower or having an otherwise unideal station setup, a near useless ENS or what not. with those universal stations, it has access to every station power in the game, in an escort chassis.

with the changes released at the same time to AtB, this ship is uniquely able to run 2 EPtX, 2 AtB, and an EWP. this is were the magic happens, AtB no longer is on the EPtX system cooldown, so you can run 2 different EPtX skills, and get the AtB bonus power. with tech doffs, if you have 2 AtB, you can use them every 10 seconds, this has the effect of setting every one of your station powers back to its global cooldown before you have a chance to use it again. ya, its crazy. off the top of my head, the only other ship that can take advantage of this and have such a broad selection of powers is the nebula, any other cruiser can do this too of course.

i can tractor people at global

i can EWP people permanently if they are stuck in the cloud for the duration, i can apply another before the first dissipates

    only need 1 TT

    only need 1 APO1

    only need 1 CRF3

    only need 1 APD1 orTHY2 or BO2

only need 1 HE and TSS

and i only need 1 EPtS and EPtA

that shut down, with the +30 acc mode, and all crit weapons fired by nothing but CRF3, its just a mater of time, you cant hold out forever. the FAW lance is kinda cool, murders pet spawn dead, but basically sets your weapons energy to 0 afterward. you cant continue firing unless you pop a batt every time. the tachyon beam vampire is bugged, AtB effects its cooldown, can use the damn thing every minute i think. point it at spam and its like a BFI heal, near unlimited targets from what i can tell

with AtB going off every 10 seconds, it don't always go off when you have much in the way of aux, so you might not have all 3 other subsystems at or above 100 for 10 seconds, poor you, but this also means you have plenty of aux for heals quite often, and aux batts can always help you out there. running EPtXA instead of say EPtW also makes it more likely you have a large amount of aux handy, or it helps 125 all 3 subsystems. don't worry about weapons power, you have MORE then you need if you just set it to 100 and forget about it, plenty of overcaping from AtB.

these ships are pretty fragile, with any other build, but something about over 100 shield energy, and at least 80 engine energy just seems to make you a lot more durable then you should be. borg 3 piece, BFI, HE and TSS are more then enough to keep you alive, and the battle cloak on the KDF version is just hilariously useful on a ship much more durable then a bop. you can use it any time you want, with only alpha strikes and tractor beams a concern. folks have gotten SOOOOOOOOOO mad at me because of it :D

every other tactical ship feels like a toy in comparison, even my beloved fleet vorcha and fleet ktinga. this thing as basically a my fleet ktinga, only with twice the effectiveness.

Tbo, spamming EWP w/HE cleanse borked is kinda abusive, imo.

Still, nice overall concept and build.

I've been thinking of a couple of different possiblities for Sci's to run shield drains w/it. But, I didn't notice the aux2batt working on the shield leech power since I usually run my Tac in Tactical mode, doing so now might also be abusive.

I'd try out 2aux2batts, but I feel dirty enough w/1.

If you're runnnig 2 x A2B, do you still need to run 3 purple techs, or can you drop it down to 2 now?

at least im not using ams

    or runabouts

    or siphon pods

    or scramble spam

    or doffed to hell VM

    or a subnuke

nope, EWP and TB are easily escapable skill that have the same counters and are available at the officer trainer. these are very basic and conventional tactics, sure they are sort of insurmountable with the frequency of their use, but if my victim has team mates around my ability to purma shut down basically goes away. single lone target elimination though? i cant lose basically.

im pretty sure 3 makes a difference, but just 2 with 2x AtB is proboly more effective then 3 with 1 AtB.
