Where are the tribbles?

My fleet recently completed the tribble starbase featured project. But whenever I go into our starbase, there's no tribbles. My friend says he can see them all over and I can hear the cooing of them. But I can't see them. It's not my graphics, I can see the pile of tribbles right next to Jones. I didn't really want the tribbles, but as long as we paid a good 200k dilithium I expect them to be there.
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

Some players will want to know what you did so you don't see tribbles. Personally, I enjoy playing kick the tribble.

The first time I went onto the starbase after we completed the project...

...there were no tribbles to begin with. Only Jones and his pile. I want to play kick the tribble and I know I am when running around the base, but I can't see any! I don't know if it has to do with telling Jones to clean up the tribbles since there were none that I could see from the start.

Ours spawn up near the conference room, on the glass flooring. I dunno if other bases are different, however. I ran around the entire base when we first got them till I finally realized I had forgotten to check the conference room, in which case I ended up running right through them on the way into it.

can you see the tribbles in the mission "The Tribble with Klingons"? How about when someone uses the tribble launcher on the Explosive Party Popper?

Try a force verify in the launcher

I haven't done The Tribble With Klingons (never bothered to go that far with story mission, I know, it's sad) but when tribbles spawn from a triolic pattern enhancer I can see them. I've kicked them around my bridge before.

TBH my fleet hasn't done that FP, so I'm not sure if I'll be of much help. Maybe if a Dev sees this they can figure out what's wrong.

BTW, devs don't usually hang out in the academy, you might want to post in the gameplay bugs forum next time to get more attention.

    Edit:
I just realized something, what are your graphics settings? Judging by the picture in your sig they may be set too low.

I can see other tribbles on my graphics, I've tried pushing them up on the starbase, still no tribbles. I'm on my SB now, no tribbles.

They should be visible all around the ops level. The main center room should have them all over the floor. Also, from my experience, telling Jones to clean them up only lasts until the next time you enter the base, not permanently.

I've had this problem for months, since my fleet finished this project. There was one random time when they appeared, oddly, I also had engine trails showing at that time. But then the game had a massive crash and I haven't seen any since.

Tribbles on starbases are Physcs objects. They are rendered solely player side inside of the game client. And physics object are dependent upon your video settings. If you settings are set too low, you won't hae any Physics objects. Or if you use advanced settings, if you have Max phsycis object turn to 0 your won't see them either.

I just wish they'd make it so you can shoot Tribbles, regardless of whether your are in combat or not. See a tribble on the starbase, should be able to shoot it, stomp it, stab it, poke it, vaporize it, or take it to the chef for cooking.

And speaking of graphics, (don't remember if I said this or not) I tried turning them as high as possible. Lots of lag, no tribbles.

I got them to appear by upping the maximum debris objects setting (might be called something slightly different as I'm not in game).

I'm fairly certain I had to leave the starbase and come back for them to appear too. Maybe even restart the game...

Note: its not possible to set Physcs objects higher then what your system can support. (you could try, but...)

So just how powerful a graphics/video hardware do you have in your computers?

    I don't know. It's on a laptop that's a few years old.

I did get Tribbles up once. I had a good kick around with them. Oddly, my Galaxy class also had engine trails, despite them meant to have been removed by that point. Never been back.

There may also be some changes in Cryptic video card detection code. The cord tries to detect the type of video card that you have and sets some sane video setting values. The changed code may have reduced certain settings below what that were previously.

Rather than just use the simple video quality slider, you can click on the advanced settings checkmark under the slider to enable "Advanced Video Settings". With advanced settings you can chance individual values like bloom, shadow settings, rendering distances, etc. Under Advaanced Setting is the Physics Object slider. If it's set to 0 (zero), no tribbled will be rendered. Crank it up a few notchs to be able to see your piles of Tribbles. But you may not want to set it too high if the game client sets it to zero. It can have a big impact on rendering speeds under certain conditions.

It means your computer graphics system has NO HARDWARE SUPPORT for Physcs objects, and must be rendered in software. And with the limited CPU powers of a Laptop, rendering a large number of Physcs objects in software are going to be problematic...
