Anyone else irked by the huge hanging plot point? (contains Breen spoilers)

And for once, this topic doesn't refer to the Iconians.

So I just blasted through the Deferi missions last night. Given the end of Cold Storage, where [em]at least one Preserver hologram[/em] is back, with implications of hundreds more about to be awoken, how come we've yet to see any impact on the rest of the story? Any thoughts - anything you'd like to see them do?

    I suspect what information we actually got from them was just not terribly notable. They said there was no military technology there. I suspect once we got in there it was mostly genetic and genealogical information on the quadrant. And while it might be interesting to know what genetic information the preservers took from one species to help another evolve or track down more transplanted human or vulcan societies, it's ultimately the kind of information that's academically interesting but also very, very boring.

    I don't really have an answer to this, but I did play a Foundry mission that's related.

    It's called "Checks and Balances" and is all about what happens after the last Breen FE mission.

    It was pretty good.

    Simply put: nothing further has been written to cover after that mission. Its not like there has to be. The story can conclude with one Preserver merely saying that more will wake up.

    Actually.... there's another facet to consider. When were the Preservers gathering Data last? It's likely that they stopped millenia ago(if not millions of years). that sort of data is going to be a lot less interesting to most.

    Given that they were relocating (presumably) Native American woodland groups from Earth, I'd imagine some subset of them must have been active relatively recently.

    Also, even if they were asleep, I'd imagine their devices were probably gathering information constantly. Or at least, I would have made them do so if I were the a preserver. Otherwise, you wake up without any idea of what's going on.
