Question about crystalline shell set

Do the 3 ground pieces from this set still drop from the reward requisition boxes on Nukara? I have yet to see a single piece after opening about 60 advanced boxes and maybe 11 or so elites. I usually see enviromental suits or a sonic ranged weapon as the reward... the shell pieces must be stupid rare.

If they -do- still drop, is there anything I can do to increase the chance of a shell piece from the reward box? Seems like a decent alternative to some of the other armors out there, esp with the augmentation lobi option. Any tips?

    They only drop from the invasion boxes. Higher grade boxes will increase your chances, but ultimately it all depends on your RL luck.

    Something to keep in mind, they only drop outta the Advanced and Elite boxes, they will not drop from the normal, aka green level boxes.

    You can buy the blue and purple boxes right off the exchange if you really want to, and just open them en masse and eventually you should get a set.

    However, the set is really only good for anything needing it to begin with, like Nukara.

    I don't own the upgraded version, but it's still a very pricy upgrade though. Even so, what I've seen and heard, the Mk XII version is still pretty good regardless, enough to get you through most things.

    All good information guys, thanks for the help with this.


    Edit: Mimey - thanks for the heads up about the exchange, spent about 1.5m and got -all- 3 pieces from exchange advanced boxes. In less time it took to do one mission I had opened the boxes and had the spoils... thanks again guys!

    Just to point out, due to the way this game's loot tables are set up, leveling equipment will top out at Mark 10.5 at Vice Admiral level.

    So the Mk XII upgrade is pricey, but if you make a lot of runs to Nukara (and if the devs ever add any new missions) it will benefit you in the long run.

    Ultimately, the money is yours to spend however you feel like it.

    The sad part about this set is that it is FAR more profitable and better to get elite/advanced boxes, sell them on the exchange and buy a cheap purple enviro suits or purple weapon which have better stats and do more damage.
    The armour and shield are terrible, they don't even have the radtox tag on them, the shield has a low capacity. The set bonus is a self centred damage ability, combine that to a severely range handicapped pulsewave set weapon and you have a set designed for up close fighting... against enemies that move fast, keep their distance and flank constantly. The set is garbage..
