Bring Back the old STFs

Since this thread went the way of the Dodo I have started this one.

The old STFs were a part of this game that I truly enjoyed and miss today. I loved gathering with friends on saturdays and having to spend time working through those difficult missions. I also enjoyed playing them with pugs who had never done them before. I didn't mind spending 3 hours doing the Cure because in reality a mission of that scope would have taken that long.

The new STFs are alright for grinding gear butt I miss the feeling of acomplishment I got when I finally finished KA and got my full Borg set.

If we can't have the old versions can we at least have missions that are like the old STFs.

    Yeah i would like this too you can still keep the sfts the way they are now but mabye every week stich one back together for those that want to play it that way and run them side by side

    not exactly the way they were, but definately longer than the current. With space and ground combined, lvl 52 opponents, etc.
    Maybe shorten KA and CURE ground a little, because that was too long. Aiming at 1h each, and not publicly queueable.
    Combined with a daily or even weekly mission that rewards Prototype salvage with a chance for prototype tech.
    Add the option that i can buy MKXII sets with prototype salvage (10 each), then i'm happy.

    but lets be realistic...it's not going to happen.

    Just remembered how much fun it was to stop mid-mission to discuss strategy . :)
    Sure , sometimes you found out that not all of your team spoke English , or not all had sniper rifles ... -- but hey , that added to the challange ! :P

    I just hope Gozer didn't tell them that the patch was in the mail for the current KAGE ! :D

    Best fun I had in this game, bring back the old STFs.
    No more grind, I want a challenge.

    Edit: Reward idea - three common or one uncommon security duty officer you freed on that task force mission :D

    the only thing was:

    1. No possibility to team up with feds/kdf players
    2. Waiting for hours and hours to find a team speically for kdf, and flooding zone chat with requests.

    These two things are a painful memory

    i do not have much problem with the current STF setup, i am however completely opposed to the long spawn delay.

    then don't die!:D or atleast try harder to survive. many people do elite stf's without dying, i think you can too.

    it did take a few attempts to realize the problem in a PuG group :D. i was totally unprepared for the elite though, but this was during the problem with units disappearing about a week ago. i have been unwilling to do Elite STF on the ground since there is always a good chance of death and a team of players doing their own thing, could spent 10 minutes or more in a death cycle. but it won't change my opinion that i do not like the death spawn delay, seems like an elitist choice. so if there is a way to loose this delay by bringing the old STF's back then, i vote to bring them back based on that alone.

    the reason for the spawn delay was simply the abuse it had created. no real need to be carefull or learn the encounter, or optimize your ship/yourself, if you can just zerg down the boss at the spawn point for 15 minutes.
    the goal should be, not to die anyway. That has nothing to do with elitist, it is a design choice made by the people who designed the stfs, with the idea in mind to give cruisers/sci ships a bigger role in stfs. Otherwise it is just best to get an 5 escorts, ignore any healing and just unload your weapons until you die, and after that respawn and start over until the boss dies.
    Now you either have an escort that can heal itself, or you have a dedicated tank cruiser that draws the aggro away from the damage dealers.

    so there is a reason behind that respawn timer, and a fairly good one actually.
