I know about the STF gear sets : maco, borg, and omega force. But as a tac captain soon to be flying the armitage, what should i look for in non stf gear for my ship. IE: graviton deflector or do escorts have a certain type for them. Dont really now how to word this. I got 1 part of omega force, but just wondering if theres deflectors and shields that work towards escorts.
I would recommend a Positron Deflector with some combination of [SIF] [ShdS] [Sen] [EM]. This maximizes your defense and repair, while [Sen] boosts your Fire on my mark captain's ability.
A Neutrino Deflector Array is useful in STFs where you will encounter energy drain and tractor beam attacks.
The shields depend on what you plan on doing. If you are planning on doing STFs I would recommend a Covariant Shield Array with [Reg] [ap] and [Pla], a Regenerative Shield Array with [Cap] [ap] and [Pla] or a Resilient Shield Array with [Cap] [Reg] and [Pla]. For Fleet Actions I would look for one with [Dis] [Tet] and [Reg]/[Cap].
If you are willing to spend ECs or Dilithum the Aegis set is also nice. Just put some Regen consoles in and it works great in even elite STFs.
My Romulan Liberated Borg character made it to Level 30 and beat the (old) Defense of New Romulus with the skill point bug.
I like the positron deflector for the power bonus's, and the efficient impulse engine. The covariant shield IMHO is better than the resilient, and both better than the regenerative or the vanilla. You'll have to mix/match shield consoles for best results as they setup differently on each of my ships (1 size fits all approach didn't work for me).
