Vice Admiral and new ship

I was just promoted to Vice Admiral and I though I would be able to receive a new ship. I looked at the bar where it shows my character advancement and saw I still had some time till I get a new ship. However, since I am not receiving any points how do I get a new ship or promote my crew to captains.

If I am not in the correct thread please tell me where I can post this.

    You get your last free ship at Rear Admiral level 40. At 50 you can use Vice Admiral ships, but they have to be purchased from the C-store as account unlocks.

    You used to get a VA ship for free. I got the Intrepid Retro on my Fed Sci way back then. But now no... not unless you sub for 600 days.

    Thanks everyone. I think STO should allow the ships to be given free if it won by reaching a certain level

    Levelling in this game is too easy. Sorry bro, don't agree with your last post.
    It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

    Well, Fleet variant ships are Vice Admiral level.

    At last check, Fleet Ship Modules go for about 9mil EC on the Exchange.
