Resolved to get Resolve

Basically I am new to the game (Level 11 LtCmdr).

I want to play the Doff system, and everyone says that the best method is to "recruit, recruit, recruit". OK, I get that. But the Cultural Exchange assignments all require that you have a Doff with the Resolve trait.

So I am running around in circles trying to find a way to acquire a Doff with Resolve so I can recruit a Doff in the first place...

I tried the Exchange, but there are hundreds of listings of Doffs and no way to search for Traits.

Help!

Have you tried the basic (non-Cultural Exchange) doff recruitment missions? They're at the Academy, in the same building as the contact for the lore daily. Talk to the personnel officer (she's right across from the Caitian), and click on "recruit" (or whatever it is; first option in the menu, anyway!) and you'll get a list of six recruitment missions. Do all of those every so often, and before long you'll have more doffs than you know what to do with,* at least some of which will, in all likelihood, have Resolve.

    Hope that helps. :)

    * Unless you're in a fleet, in which case your fleet projects will eat through them rapidly...

    Yes, I had.

    But I am a newbie...

All of the recruitment assignments said that you needed a "Civilian Crewman"... But the suggested officers by the First Officer was blank, so I assumed (you know the joke) that I needed to have some sort of unbound/non-binded civilian department Doff to complete the missions.

    Big DOH!

FYI: All you need to do is click the "Start Assignment" button.

P.S.: Thanks for the quick response! That was great.

Aha! Yeah, they could probably stand to clarify that interface a bit.

Glad you figured it out. :)
