Does rate of fire effect energy drain?

Comparing Dual Cannons and Heavy Cannons

Dual Heavy Cannon drain 12
Dual Cannons drain 10

But dual cannon fire twice as fast

So what i wanted to know was, the the drain on tooltip based on drain per second, or based on drain per shot.

if its drain per second, then Dual Cannons are more power efficient...
but if its per shot then Dual Heavys would be more power efficient...


Can anyone more experienced clarify any of this for me please?

I do not know for sure, bu I believe the power drain is NOT calculated per shot but per activation of the weapon cycle. I'd like clarification on this as well... as that would really help my spreed-sheet math. :P

I think it's just power drain per cycle.

I do know that dual heavies are the most energy efficient because they do their damage in a quick burst before the energy drain can really affect them.
