So yeah, there is a poll. And one of the options is "playable Romulans". The question is, does this mean as their own independent faction, or as some sub faction of the Feds or KDF? I have a feeling the meaning would make a big difference as far as what people are voting for, so please clarify that.
Tucked away in the recent Raptr Q&A are several almost-answers to this question. If you look at them in the order Stahl posted them, he eventually talks about the way he would *like* it to work - which looked to me like stealing from the new WoW Pandaren race - start as a Romulan, play through the tutorial and perhaps the first 10 levels, then pick a side to go to.
Again, this is nestled among several replies, all of which were very guarded answers, and it comes with the "what I would like" caveat, so don't expect it, just know its a topic they have several ideas on, but I didnt see one clear ision yet.
He did seem to specifically say he didn't want to focus on it until after KDF was more in line with UFP...

I just love how once again this is "how WoW does it" on something CoH did before them (and was copying another game when they did it).

I did see that. However, I am still asking for clarification on exactly what the item listed in the poll is referring to. Of course, the devs will make whatever they want to make. But my point is simply that if the majority of voters want a full Rom faction and that is what they think they are voting for, then it would be deceptive for the poll results to ever be used as justification for making a Rom sub faction.
they don't even have the resources to finish the Klingons or to bring a constant stream of featured episodes.
where would all those missions a Romulan Faction requires come from all of a sudden?
IMHO it is either the ally with FED/KDF route (which i would NOT like, then you could just make it a LockBox Ship and C-Store Species unlock with the same Endgame Result...)
or a Faction that starts at level 30 or 40, basically HALF of what the KDF is at the moment and then slowly add to that faction over time. (after all i would still prefer this)
...anyway in the End, i don't think many would want a Romulan Faction to begin with after they realize that the Cloaking Device is still broken and by now even dStahl says "working as intended" / "it's a feature not a bug"... to it.
half a Romulan Faction with a broken cloaking device?
I hope that it will be a full independant romulan faction,as the feds and KDF are.
This is exactly why we need clarification. If these 2 people are voting for 2 different things it invalidates the results of the poll. Also, we have been told in the past that the forums absolutely do not represent the majority of the playerbase. So how does this poll prove anything? Either we represent the playerbase or we dont. Either this poll actually means something, or it doesnt. It cant be both ways.

i have to say i love to know this my self for if its going to be romulans playing lap dogs to the KDF and the FEDS i dont want to see them in game for that would not be a true romulan
