I've enjoyed this game for the past two years. Season 5 really was fantastic. However, Season 6 brought fantastic new content with MAJOR bugs. Server stability has degraded to the point that I can barely log in. Then, if I do...I lucky if I am able to play - disconnected or server not responding.
I am happy for the majority of players out there. Dispite all the bashing this game gets in the forums, if the game works for you...it's wonderful. There's a lot of things to do. All of it in the world of Star Trek.
After spending about $1000 on this game in the last two months - getting the stuff I like and supporting the fleet I belong to. I am rewarded with the inability to play. It is unfortunate that I see it is common for many people in the support section of this forum too.
If the game is working for you...you are so very lucky. It's the best Star Trek game I've ever played on the PC, and I've played almost all of them. It's really the only game I need for gaming. It's just broken in so many ways now...Ultimately for me, I"m unable to stay connected to the server.
Enjoy the game...stop bashing it unless you contribute to the developers salary and ultimately game content (buy some things from the store)...The game is generally free. It isn't your personna. Don't make your avatar the definition of who you are in real life.
Just enjoy the game while it lasts...while it's still working for you.
about 3 weeks ago my gameplay went to a crawl and i was having all kind of problems and it was right after a patch so i assumed it was them.
i eventually found out that all i had to do was update my graphics driver and i went back to perfectly smooth gameplay. most people never even think about driver updates and dont realise that will fix most of their problems.
sometimes it can be as simple as a new firewall blocking the game, some adware slowing down your uplink speeds, the wrong proxy being slected on the launcher, their service provider experiencing technical difficulties or any number of other issues.
I am one of those accounts that have game crashing problems. all my drivers are up to date, now im stuck in a crypyic error bs. I love this game very much, but i can't love a game i cant even play anymore. I hope cryptic resolves these issues quickly.
If you're having problems logging into the game or keeping it running, PWE has an entire forum for you, with people who want to help you solve the problems:
And finally, if you can't get the support site to work, they even have an email address you can use to open the tickets (although I wouldn't jump straight to this, and it's likely to take you right out of their triage system for prioritizing "can't play the game" issues over "can play but have a small issue" problems): customersupport@perfectworld.com
I'm going to close this thread now, as it's turning into a combination of Tech Support and Feedback. Folks are welcome to open a thread in the Tech Support forum if you need Tech Support, and one in the Feedback forum if you want to give Feedback.
