Just read the responds on the blog!! Tell me what is really the benefit? Instead of being busy with cooperate with third party's where nobody heart of you guys should focus on more content. Missions. Planets sectors. All I seen now is not even 2 missions a year. I have been a players since Oct 11. And no new missions ad all. Only a bunch of new C store Zen store items.

I spended over 100 euro per month in this game. But soon I am taking of! The fun is gone. There are only new missions found in the foundry... but u guys didn't need to do **** for that. And I took a Life time subscription. Complete worthless.... WTF No real benefits...

I hear many many many guys talk about it on team speak. Soon its over with STO. U guys only focused on money money money.... but not on consumer service. The new star bases... they only cost more money.... thousands of dilithium. What thousands... MILLIONS

And now I should be happy with this amazing free stuff if I only subscribe to spam...

Pfff good luck in the future.

If there are people like you willing to pour HUNDREDS of Euros into the game PER MONTH, can you blame them for releasing more c-store content that people blindly buy? Makes perfect sense to me.

Personally, I'm extremely glad that starbases have been sucking dilithium out of the economy - the dilithium exchange has crashed hard and I can pick up 50 zen per day per toon. With 6 VA toons that's 300 zen per day. I don't have to spend a dollar when there are people like you who will pour money into the game for me and let me reap the benefits :D

This response made me LOL.....wow talk about getting smacked with the right hand of common sense.... I couldnt agree with this any more.... and the ironically hilarious part? The previous poster was GRIPING about the very same problem he strives so hard to help create.

yes PW and Cryptics nickel and diming is flawed and BS but, it IS because of actions such as these that is remains such a viable option.

    Yeah, that's right.

roguetrooperz: Is there any plan to introduce any new Klingon ships in e future along with Fed Sci and Escorts as crusiers have been getting a lot of loving recently?

Dstahl: If you are looking for more KDF Ships in the C-Store, this may be a challenge because KDF ships haven't been as cost-effective to make. That is why I'd like to see the team focus more on fixing the KDF faction issue first before we go crazy adding more KDF ships.

This was a deeply disappointing answer and only partially answered at best. As some one who likes to play on both sides as a Tac skipper the fact the Klingon shipyards aint getting no loving is a bit well hinky tbh, and the fact no answer was given to the rest of the question i shall leave that to the individual to decide...

I am happy to see " see the KDF inline with the feds" spoken ( so to text) by Dstahl in the session. It gives hope yo the future of the KDF.

I look foward to reading the rest of the thread.

Yes, I believe at the 1000 vet mark your stipend "goes away"

This was actually written in the Wiki not too long ago.. but now I cannot seem to find it.. I think they took it off? Either way yes, that is the plan. At least, last I heard.

Proof by a dev in an interview or forums or it didn't happen. The outrage by such an event would be greater than any we have seen here already. Besides Wikis have been known to have false information on them before.

Yes they have.... and as it was removed and only ever on the wiki, this may have very well been the case.

HOWEVER, it would not surprise me in the least if this was the case and only "accidentally" leaked, like so many things have been b4 it was intended to be released. I for one, have decided to go with the "This wasnt supposed to be released just yet" idea.. why deal with the ENORMOUS falluot and angst generated from this any earlier than you had too?

False? What part? So are you saying that the LTS stipend IS NOT going to go away? Can I quote you on that pwebranflakes?

If so that would make me very, very happy. Unfortunately the Wiki isnt the only place I heard this... rumor also lended its hand to this "tidbit". If this was all unfounded.... please let me know.

why the hell would the stipend go a way? its a life time perk, its a return on investment that you can use only in the company store. what a stupid thing to think would ever happen

Maybe, but not at all surprising, considering. If this is wrong...or not true I would gladly admit I have been in error to assume/think this. However, in the words of my old CO "I am a pessimist and not often proven wrong."

Well I have to admit, this looks very promising, he wants to bring KDF up to par, introduce Romulans in 2012 (If timing and scheduling permits it), Fleet Embassy (recruiting and fleet alliances/wars), colonies, revamping kits, exploration revamp, minigames, new ships, new races and a whole lot more.

Patience guys, greatness is on the way!

Now if they can get their advertising up to attract more people...

Ah yes, but the sad fact for you is, that person represents the players who've been here since day one, the ones who believed in STO and really thought that more money would mean more content and a better game. We've seen that's not the case, and we're leaving. No more zen for sale, start paying for yourself. What, you won't pay? Bye bye STO.

danwaigand: Have you ever considered merging the Klingon/Fed factions into one? This would destroy a number of common complaints regarding the game and allow the dev team to focus on creating 1 game instead of two, as well as fixing most issues such as balancing, content, and pvp. Might also let us start on race-specific homeworlds or possibly get a race-specific weapon.

...Any chance we'll get more end-game missions that allow us the use of boffs, or simply updates to current ones? I wouldn't mind seeing how my boffs respond to some STFs or something.
Dstahl: We have considered merging the KDF and FED factions, but only as a due-diligence thought process. We strongly believe that STO needs both factions and we would rather see the KDF come inline with the FED faction. One of the options we are considering to make this happen is to add other key races and species to the KDF faction, so I'm curious what you might think of that solution if it say meant more content for the KDF, even if that content is specific to a species such as the Gorn or Orions?

I had thought of that. Adding more Gorn outfits won't improve someone's interest in playing As a Gorn, but a merged faction WOULD cause my Fed Alien to play on a team With A Gorn! Moreso.. I'd probably invest in a Kar'Fi Carrier.

to be honest, I think in it's current form, you only manage to split the playerbase.. Not into warlike factions... but rather simply into friends who can't play together... which kinda kills Cryptic's server-clustering advantage over other mmo's that deal in "realms".

My fleet kinda detailed thoughts on this concept.. If for example I could take a Klingon friend on a mission with me "as a diplomat"... rather in technical terms, could party with them, then I'd be happier and we'd never have to "switch characters" just to play together.

Thinking from your angle, you might want me to have multiple characters.... I have 4. I still never do anything with the other 3 except occasionally try to get some extra dilithium for the fleet projects. The real diehard people will still multibox, or create a seperate account for this... and some will simply want to start over.. so you don't really chance losing out in this case.

      http://ussstarchaser.wikia.com/wiki/Wishlist

I remember reading that the Klingon Flagship didn't sell as well as was hoped.... by keeping the factions in their current form, it means a person "HAS TO LOVE"
the KDF Faction to even consider that ship as a purchase. I know a few who are dedicated... but most of them like their Fed characters too much to even bother with a KDF...

Factions are good... but not in their current form. There are multiple fleets out there of liberated borg, ferengi, Klingon (on the fed side), and other races.. even a deferi group run by a nice guy named Rauno. Players would definitely group themselves based on their favorite wishes, and you'd probably find more dedication to these concepts.

...a merged faction would allow people to further make multiple groups.. perhaps a group of bounty hunters or something... and further integrate these concepts.

Could someone please define "content"? I'm not getting this.

Answer: "Season 7 will have all this awesome stuff! A new Romulan colony, a change to STFs, more ground exploration!"

Response: "Wait...no content until Season 8?"

      *honestly confused*

Also, sounds like more new currency. :(

Why not? We don't have enough currencies as it is, we need as many more as we can possibly get...

Lets see, maybe I won't miss any...
      1. Energy Credits
      2. Gold Pressed Latinum
      3. Dilithium - Unrefined
      4. Dilithium - Refined
      5. Dilithium - Common Unreplicatable Mats
      6. Dilithium - Uncommon Unreplicatable Mats
      7. Zen
      8. Fleet Marks
      9. Fleet Credits
      10. EDC
      11. Lobi
      12. Rare Borg Salvage
      13. Prototype Borg Salvage
      14. Fleet Modules

That list is not that big in comparison to Badges of explorations (1-5 orders), marks of valor, mark of honor, PvP Medals (5 of them) pre-season 5 and half on the list aren't really "currencies," you might as well add all the crafting mats too

On another note I would just like to say:
I appreciate all the time spent stahl spent answering all these questions and reading through all of them. That is all, and we got some really great answers and responses to developments that we now know aren't abandoned.

I hope stahl or someone from cryptic sees/tells him a job well done.

Your optimism is rare and precious. I hope you're right. But realistically, it probably won't be S9. Then 11+ range seems more likely to me, with the intervening seasons bolstering other features like crafting and PvP.

So apparently the Wells Class is gonna be the next lockbox ship. Has to be since it was [Redacted], and now DStahl's not-so-subtle "time" hint.

Here's a tip to make STO "More Trek": Don't bring ships from the 29th Century and put them in the 25th Century, IN THE HANDS OF PLAYERS no less.
