Because a lot of this is still in design discussion, I can't comment thoroughly on how this discussion is going internally.
What I can say is this: We want to reward for PvP. Whether that means Fleet Marks or something completely different is still very much in-the-air, because the decision cannot be made in a vacuum. Any reward added to PvP has to be sustainable - we don't want to add something that might need to be changed or removed later - and it also cannot be exploitable, while still being meaningful.
That's another way of saying, just be patient please. I know you might hear that a lot, but if we make a knee-jerk reaction to add something that turns out to be a bad decision at a later point, then we're just wasting everybody's time - yours and ours.
Of course it's in the air and not in a vacuum, how would you breathe while deciding if it weren't? (unless you got access to a few space suits.)
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
Givem some of the hihh costs we see in fleet marks for T3 in a Starbase, have you tjought about simply;
1 fleet mark for each Arena, 2 fleet marks for complete CnH and 3 fleet marks for each instance of Ker'rat finished for a total 9 in one day?
Agreed. Especially when Colony Invasion is an easy 30 Fleet Marks for 5 minutes of facerolling that's repeatable every (20?) minutes and can do other Fleet missions while waiting for the CD. Whereas in PvP, you're locked in for at least 15-20 minutes per run.
Well then, how about?
10 fleet marks for each Arena played (one must have a kill/heal score)
20 fleet marks for each CnH played (one must have a kill/heal score)
30 fleet marks for each instance of Ker'rat played for a total of 90 for completing all three parts.
Frankly I kept the numbers low to disuade those whom wnat the FM without fighting.
You can get 90 for one days Ker'rat and run Arena and CnHs till bored for as much as you wish to farm.

I'm sorry, but thats just BULL****. Cryptic makes "kneejerk" decisions constantly that then need to be edited. Weirdly, they're usually ones that get people to pay more money to get the new hotness before they then "wake up" and go Opps! Better Nerf That!
You're right, we do get told that a lot, so how about you guys start ****ing acting on these 2.5 year old discussions and stop wasting peoples' time.

Not only do I agree with the OP, I will add that anything that is queued for should have fleet marks as a reward.

i like how a complete revamp of the pve que is comming.
pvp gets the shaft once again.
also they mention that new stuff being released in season 7 will be getting marks and whatnot....
just do us all a favor and fracking remove pvp from this game already so we can all move on and take our money elsewhere.
You know it does remind me of what it must be like to have a family member on life support. You want it to end but don't have the heart. If they pull the plug I would leave the game.
Everyone is trying there hardest to ignore the big, pink PW/Cryptic tattooed elephant in the room, The reason fleet marks have not and WILL not be added to pvp is because what with the Starbase interest and all, too much ATTENTION would be brought to the lack of and neglected pvp in this game. When fleet memebers and starbase users start doing pvp to get/grind more mats etc the pvp uproar would grow from small minority droning to a deafening ROAR.
Cryptic is well aware of this and their shortcomings in certain broken aspects of this game and have no interest in continuing to foster more complaints about them or to be hounded on to fix any of them.
OK, the problem with the "Cryptic won't add fleet marks to PvP because that would make people realize PvP is bad in STO" is this:
Dan Stahl has said in multiple places recently that PVP IS BAD IN STO.
I submit that this is SLIGHTLY more likely to bring attention to that fact.
he's said this several times in the past, and each time hes said hang with us we'll get around to it. and we all stupidly keep believing him.
at least this time around he flat out said itll be a while before pvp is looked at. but by that time who knows what game breaking TRIBBLE will be released for the "pve" crowd that qwill break pvp even further making it even more of a resource sink and not worth it.
they can suck it.
them saying this games pvp is bad is like pointing at a person dying of cancer and telling them "hey you're dying of cancer, we'll get around to fixing you in a few years. hang in there."

At this point I more liken it to teabagging the not quite dead guy who's trying to hold his guts in.

But I hope they create new PvP maps- not arena style - for earning that currency.
