Global Chat Server Offline

Someone killed the chat hamster =( RIP.

    Hi there,

    The 'global chat server' seems to be offline, at least, that's what the game said when I tried to compose a mail, after discovering I couldn't use the chatbox anymore and my complete mailbox was empty. Any idea how long this is gonna take?

    im having the same problems, its not just you, it would of been nice if they announced that they were gonna do something to it sheesh

    oh and the dam announcements still work :(

    I did not see a similar thread, but I'm also affected by this bug.

    Yeah it got me too at the end of an IGE Lol >.>'

    Thank god i was part of a good team XD

    But yeah, chat is broke for me also, (makes me wish our emotes could be used for communication, but no, they are also classed as chat :|)

    It's probably a malfunction then, I guess. Otherwise they would have surely made an announcement about it, wouldn't they?

    Anybody who can give an insight (mods?) about how long this is gonna take before it's fixed?

    yep same here. chat is down including all custom channels and pidgin too. yet the stupid "so and so has got a new ship" messages still work just fine.

    Yeah the chat server is down for me, but I've also noticed lately there has been some lags and dcs that are occuring without warning. This may also be apart of the chat box problem.

    Not only is every chat channel gone, apparently it's the entire global system. I can't even e-mail attachments to my alternate character.

    Hope that works soon. Both chat and mail are kinda important to me. As well as most other players I guess.
    TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
    Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

    Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

    Hi all

    Hope this isn't a stupid question or I've missed some announcement. My game crashed out on the server and when I logged back in, I had no chat except local and all my emails had vanished for both my characters. Is this the same for anyone else? Or have I got a horrible glitch?

    Chat came back for me just now, but my mailbox is empty :| this isnt good! :(

    Including your inbox of mail? (sorry im genuineily worried I've lost some stuff)

    (My panic is over, logged out/in and my mail returned :), time to get it the saftey of a bank asap.)

    Hmmm. The channels were working fine when I was on. The mail was broken, but the DOFFjobs chat was unaffected.

    I think within about 30-60 mins of my previous post they rebooted the chat server (not the game server) because all my friends list suddenly popped online at once, and it was working again.
