They look really nice. I'd love to have them.
Not going to be buying anymore Federation costume pieces until they give the KDF something new. Anything new. The last (how many?) c - store additions have all been federation (except the ridiculous expensive suit - which was for both).
So, beautiful new costume set.
Totally worth buying and using.
Not getting my money for it, until the KDF gets some attention.
My thought is the same.
PWE/Cryptic will not get my money until the KDF gets more and more attention
I love Cryptic logic. Add chess tables but no chess game. Add racing uniforms but no racing. Add Starbases with no real function. What'll they think of next!
Under underestimate the illogical moves of Cryptic, each time we think it can't get worse, it gets worse.
Yet more Fed fluff... looks like I won't be spending any Zen/Money this week.
There's so much I want to say but it's clear Cryptic doesn't care or value those of us that play KDF and want KDF content.
It's very sad, It's like they are trying to shut down the game without having the balls to say they want to. They are missing such a big business opportunity with the KDF, they say there won't be more KDF content till there is more KDF players. Yet everyone knows that there won't be more KDF players till there is more content produced for the faction. It's a catch-22 that only Cryptic can break.
I have never seen an MMO to have a community of gamers who are so sick of not being listened to. So much for Dan Stahl saying we are his bosses and he'll produce what the community wants. One thing I have learned in my time here is that Mr Stahl's word can't be trusted as he never delivers what he promises.
Support the Game by Supporting the KDF, equality and uniqueness for all factions!
well ... stalker - atrox - armitage - Regent - 2 x fed costums vs zero KDF Content.
.... i think thats a clear message of Cryptic about the KDF
and you are surprised because....? I am not, they are trying to kill the KDF side...so that they wont be bothered with promises not kept...m ark my words...klingons are going to become monster play....oh wait...

I'm sorry...but what does the uniform have to do with a racing event??? Even if they come up with one...that I TBH doubt...why? You dont see your toon when you fly your shuttle...unless it is a foot race...but then It wouldnt make sense...since...the race suit was used in a shuttle race...but you dont see your toon while flying your shuttle...wow...I am repeating myself.
Thats the logic of it...I mean, am I de only one seeing the flawed logic in this? the nonsense of asking for a shuttle race?
wait...dont say emersion because I will reach through the internetz and slap you silly.

i'll give you better then that...I'll give you an example...Lord of the rings online...you Unlock the ability toplay with a caracter from de orc side...but...you dont have quests...you just hunt players from the other faction in a open pvp map...and thts it...thats how you level...
So...Unlock the ability to play a orc or goblin...etc...and you hunt players in PVP to level up.

Ahh, I see. Thank you very much for explaining it to me.
Good job on the art again. Since i am a costume collector (and yeah KDF needs more too), i will get this uniform over time.
Would have been fun though, if this uniform got into the game this week. I actually hope we will see it in the future.
I have a question to all of my fellow Trekkies here. Since i saw that VOY episode, i asked myself if that was an official uniform from Starfleet, or if this could be a totally new creation (like the Delta Flyer) by Tom Paris? What do you guys think? If it's an official one, what kind of uniform is it? I like to think of it like a uniform for prototype ships, since i find it unlikely that Starfleet got a special uniform for space races.
When the Vesta class hits the game, i can see my crew using the Racing Uniforms with that ship.
The KDF do still exist in STO last I checked (though they may as well remove them if they aren't going to add anything for them...)
I'd really love to see a breakdown of KDF "content" (I use that term loosely as it seems anything and everything is "content" in the game so the Devs can say they keep adding "content") vs Fed "content", vs "content" for both factions there actually is in the game, and maybe a breakdown by "content" types (Costumes, ships, missions, ect). It seems there is almost nothing in the Z-Store for the KDF while every time we turn around the Fed get something new. I wish the Devs would just come out and say what everyone here already knows, that they have no intention of ever making the KDF a full race, and as such they have no reason to waste their "valuable time" making anything new for them.

Well, the question is whether "full" can be "far less than equal."
If the answer is yes, get ready for more factions. If the answer is "no," then the factions need to be merged down to "The Alpha Quadrant Alliance" spearheaded by the Federation but with everybody else chipping in to help the Federation out for most of their content.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!??
You keep asking for more and more costumes....WTF! I mean seriously....
If you want to play dress up...fine... Go play hello Kitty online or some other Barbie dress up game...
But for love of all things trek...THIS is not what thee game NEEDS!!!
It needs actuall stuff to do, the KDF deserve some love...
If you spend ours in the tailor playing dress up and thats what you want to do in STO...Fine,hey its up to you.
Dont ask, Dont tell...
I dont need you to keep asking for more USELESS stuff!!!
So please can we actually focus on something usefull and not turn STO into a liberatce show?
Thank you
But for love of all things trek...THIS is not what thee game NEEDS!!!

The people who design Costumes aren't the people who make Missions, so not producing one has nothing to do with increasing the production of the other. And, on top of that, the C-Store is where Cryptic makes 99% of its income. So clearly they need a steady stream of items put into the C-Store to keep income in-coming. Uniforms and Ships are popular fluff items, so they get produced a lot.
As far as KDF C-Store items, it's simply economics. The KDF make-up 20% of the fan-base and so there's no huge incentive to spend too many man-hours on the smaller market. If it takes 100 man-hours to make a costume they have 3 options:
1: Try and sell it to the 80%
2: Try and sell it to the 20%
3: Try and sell it to both - and that's the market I think Cryptic is currently missing.
So please can we actually focus on something usefull and not turn STO into a liberatce show?
What one person find "useful" in a game another finds pointless. That's why there are different options for different types of people.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
What? Did I miss something? When did they start selling candleabra's in the C-store?
And say what you will about Librace, he still owns one of the best one-liners in American history. When asked how he felt after reading all of the terrible reviews about his show and how he was a no-talent lounge act with terrible taste, he replied...
The people who design Costumes aren't the people who make Missions..
Did not want to argue your other points because they make sense...
but this one, It has been proven in the past that there are no 2 teams or 3...there is only ONE. You might say...where is actual proof that there is no more then just one, the thing is...there is no proof otherwise too...
Lets just think about this.
If there are diferent teams for everything (wich I dont beleive) the people that do missions have been sitting on their thumps since the feature episode?
So what have they been doing because as you can easily see in the foundry missions...people come up with GREAT missions with the limited tools they have in a couple of days...
so yeah...craptic is paying people to sit on their thumps? nope...dont buy it

The problem though is that it is a Catch-22. There are much fewer people on KDF because there is so little KDF content, and they won't add more content for KDF because so few people play it.
.
but this one, It has been proven in the past that there are no 2 teams or 3...there is only ONE. You might say...where is actual proof that there is no more then just one, the thing is...there is no proof otherwise too...
Well, for one the Devs have stated that there are different teams on more than one occasion... That is not proof however, as the Devs have said a lot of things that, at best, fall into the "questionable" category in terms of truthfulness...
Did not want to argue your other points because they make sense...
but this one, It has been proven in the past that there are no 2 teams or 3...there is only ONE. You might say...where is actual proof that there is no more then just one, the thing is...there is no proof otherwise too...
You are greatly mistaken here. There are clearly different Divisions/Teams within STO. There's the Costume art team, the Ship art team, the Environmental art team, there's the Content team, the QA team, the DOFF team, and so on. Each person who works for Cryptic has a different assignment.
And I'm sure it works the same in your job too. Your company probably has an Accountant who pays the bills, deals with invoices, make payroll checks, etc. Your company might have someone working in the warehouse who loads and unloads trucks. Your company might have a salesman who goes on the road and promote the products, and so on. Just as you can't ask the guy who works in the warehouse to go in and make-out payroll checks to get them done quicker you can't expect a Costume Artist for Cryptic to go and write a Mission. It's not his job, not what he's trained for, and it would get you no where.
STO has 45 employees all doing their own jobs, and I guarantee you, none of them are just sitting around eating donuts all day.
The problem though is that it is a Catch-22. There are much fewer people on KDF because there is so little KDF content, and they won't add more content for KDF because so few people play it.
I don't see it as a Catch-22. I see it as an opportunity for the KDF fan-base to prove their support for their Faction. So let me ask you this: how many of the 21 KDF ships in the C-Store do you own?
Over the last 2.5 years I've managed to purchase all 30 of the Fed ships in the C-Store. I don't love all of those ships. I bought them to support the game.
As I said in another thread, the only way the KDF are going to make an impact on Cryptic is if they do so financially in the C-Store. Instead of dropping 200,000 Dilithium on a Fleetbase bar upgrade a KDF player should convert that Dilithium to Zen and buy an additional KDF ship from the C-Store.
Cryptic knows how many Borts were sold in comparison to Oddys. The KDF players need to make themselves bigger buyers then just 1 out of 5 players. Try and shoot for 2 out of 5. Does that mean you'll buy a ship you don't love sometimes? Sure, but the only thing Cryptic really notices is bottom line. So prove you're willing to buy things and Cryptic will take notice.

Well...unless your a craptic employee, it's just your facts against mine...and again...it proofs nothing.
Its the internetz, you have your facts, I have my facts...other people have their facts.
In the end...nothing is true...but nothing is wrong either.
Did not want to argue your other points because they make sense...

It's not a matter of the number of teams, it's a matter of unique skill set. A designer is not a programmer. An infrastructure engineer is not a QA engineer. A content manager is not a sales support specialist. They are very different fields requiring different expertise, different skillsets, even different degrees (in most cases).
You can't simply ask a programmer who has never used a 3D modelling tool to suddenly crank out new art at the same level as the guy who has been doing it all his life. Same with asking artists to suddenly know how to program, or do customer support, etc.

It's not quite as simple as that, some of the 'teams' are not teams but are actually just '1' person, for example for along time CapnLogan was running the ship team, but he was the only one actually on it, so its a bit misleading. Also, there are many devs that are most likely not dedicated to one particular task, for example, Gozer, he was the main STF and content guy, yet we had huge draughts in that area, meaning he must of been working on something else. Also, its wrong to assume that the artists at STO are so specialized that they are incapable of doing anything other than what they are assigned. for example, CapnLogan was the ship guy, but he also made the interior for the Enterprise-F. I'd like to think that the charactor artist is also capable of modeling ships and environments. So when people say 'no one was pulled off making content to make something' this isn't always quite right as the skillsets are there that some devs 'can' be reassigned. I've seen it first hand at a games company I was at where dev's were rotated into different tasks (for example, I did Web Design, Level Design, System Design and even QA at a company I was at).
Personally, I'm getting tired of Federation uniforms (more so as they are usually almost identical just with different ways of shading the shoulders). I would much rather the Charactor artists work to allow us to customise some of our DoFF's like the Reman, Borg and Breen ones, which I highly doubt is not possable (as they stated) as they managed to do it with the pre-order borg DoFF (as saying it wasn't possable on that one either).
Seriously, the KDF needs more content, this is 'not' simple economics or marketing to say just focusing on the FED makes most buisness sence, since advanced marketing and economics shows that it is highly important to support a wide portfolio amongst a strong target audiance, preferably one covering several segments. Right now, Cryptic, by only appealing to one target audiance and not working on strengthening others (ie, KDF players) and is actually doing far more harm than good. Yes, short term, on paper, only developing for FED's makes sence, but for making a long term sustainable product, they are really making a huge mistake and I'm really surprised thier marketing department can't see this (unless the goal is to not make a long term sustained product, but it infact to milk a short term product, which is what looks more and more likely).
Really? Hey lets bring out a costume pack for feds!
Another dev: I have another idea! Lets do a second one!
Seriously guys, do some KLINGON stuff. I'm saying this even as a fed, do some more to klingon gameplay, or you're going to end up losing half your fanbase. If not half, then at least a third. I know I certainly won't be playing anymore, I'd rather go and play the new Planetside 2 thats coming out soon...

"Useless" is in this context a matter of opinion and totally subjective. Facts are, that ships & costumes generate profit. Thats the reason they keep adding them. Many players couldnt care less about it. Thats ok. Many care a lot and like to collect them. Thats ok too. As long as this is profitable for Cryptic, we see more of them on a regular basis. They said they would like to add all canon ships to the game as time went on. I believe costumes too. There are still plenty of options. Discussions and speculations about marketing decisions are great, but in the end wasted energy. By this time Cryptic (and nobody of us) got all the hard data they need to make informed business decisons. It's similar to the Lock Boxes. We dont have to like them. But since they make such a great profit with them, they will never disappear again. In the end thats ok for me if it funds STO. I prefer to buy things from the store, i get the most subjective entertainment value from. Like account wide unlocks.
So please can we actually focus on something usefull
Like adding all costumes to the Foundry database?! I know about a cat with a taste for cheese, who would love to see this happening. And believe it or not, this cat is not alone!
...
Again, anybody knows if the Racing uniform was an official uniform from Starfleet (if so for what purpose), or maybe a creation by Tom Paris (like the Delta Flyer)?

See, there is where you are wrong I actually kno quite a few 3D moddelers that are also excelent programers...so your statement is and not very realistic.
To give you some examples...the guys that are making Star trek excalibur...they started alone...now the have some guys dedicated to moddeling...but they did the moddeling work at the beginning and some of their moddels put STO's to shame and still did all the programing for their costum engine...then there are the guys that are building that starwar total conversion for freelancer...the guys that started it...were moddelers and programers... so you see...if a bunch of "amateurs" have these skill...why wont the so called professionals have them too?

My thought is the same.
PWE/Cryptic will not get my money until the KDF gets more and more attention
But I will wait on new KDF content. Too much Fed for my taste ...
Why is there no content for KDF in this offer? Something for both factions would be great.
Yeah seems to me they are trying to milk the Federation players to death when the KDF is screaming for more costume options.
Aye, I'm with you. I'm almost out of things to buy on the KDF side.
Indeed it's getting that way isn't it?
I'm thinking along the same lines as you mate.

Like adding all costumes to the Foundry database?! I know about a cat with a taste for cheese, who would love to see this happening. And believe it or not, this cat is not alone!
