Tribble breeding: multiple types in the bank

I have a ton of different tribbles in my inventory; and was wondering...if I buy specific food; will the tribbles consume the food or at random each tribble will eat a random food?

Example: I have 5 vitales; and I have 5 food pieces that are 64%, but I also have sparkes in my bank....will the 5 vitales use the 5 food at 64% and breed, or it is at random (so each tribble, either spa or vit will grab the 64% food) ?

I am trying to figure out if I should just leave them all in the bank and feed them, or if I should selectively take just one at time and feed it until i get what I want?

    it is random, but each tribble will only breed once per hour, so if you have five Vitales and one Sparkes, with 5 food, you will get 5 new tribbles but you cannot get more then one of the Sparkes Progeny.

    So basically it is at random...If I have a higher tier and want to be sure to breed it correctly; I will have to keep it in my inventory then.

    Another thing that I don't get: on the guide to breed; there are for example 3 types of food to get the next tier...means that I need ANY of these 3 or ALL of them to get the next tier tribble?
