Thank You Cryptic VESTA now in the System!!!

She is hiding in the Foundry right now.

Which means that the Federation is going to be getting one of the BEST crusiers created in story very soon!!! I have been waiteing patiently for her - now that the Dud Regent is out of the way I hope to see her in the store Next month

What kind of things would people like her to have?

6 Univeral BO slots would be nice!

I expect a "Fed's get ANOTHER SHIP!!" to show up in the KDF forums in Sept.

Create a new ship costume and it is one of the skins you can choose. It doesnt have in textures though, its just a black model with lights.

it's in the costume editor - but you can then move the model into a game spot

It seems like new ships are being "leaked" out - or accidentially released all over the place in the last few days

wonder what's the game - intentional or unintentional?

All 3 happened at once, so I'm guessing this specific incident is simply somebody being sloppy.

Well since starbase fatigue is starting to set in and this huge mess over doff's pissing people off - they don't seem to be doing any emergency maintainence to remove this "hotly" anticipate ships from the game.

Nah I guess they just like their weekend off.

Please DON"T POST ANY PIC's or LINKs to PIC's

I don't want this thread getting nerfed either - besides she is not much to look at right now anyway.

Eh, I like my weekend off, too, so I won't fault them for that.

Not like we'd be any less pissed off about the entire situation if they implemented some half-a*s solution on the way out the door friday.

How does a thread get nerfed? I've heard of them being deleted, but not nerfed.

Boy are you going to be disappointed.

Captain Geko already confirmed - she will be a Science ship, not a Cruiser, precisely for the reason you have highlighted: The Feds have enough cruisers.

If Geko's answer is correct, I'd be looking at it as a Sci ship that can load cannons. Probably with less turnrate/shields and more hull than most science ships.

So if you have a sci vessel with cannons, turnrate of 7 (the size alone suggests 8 at most, going off other ships including the Nebula and the Excelsior), 34.5k hull, 6143 shields, and a Tac/Sci heavy BOff loadout, 3/3/3 consoles (3/4/3 for the fleet version), and subsystem targeting... Sure. It's a sci ship. But is it REALLY a sci ship? It would have stats that firmly overlap with some cruisers

All ships can load cannons. Just not dual cannons. Check out the priority one interview though... He was pretty against the idea of allowing the Vesta to mount Duals.

If it's a science ship, I'd expect Lt Cdr Engineering at best. Commander Science, Lieutenant Tactical. The ensign is anyone's guess.

    With good reason.
Yes the ship is described as being armed with "cannons".
But since it's a novel there's no reason to believe it's using the same dafinition of cannons as STO.
Nor does it state anywhere that those "cannons" are mounted in the casematte-style we know from the Defiant.
Not to mention this would make little sense given the Vesta's size...

    He's gonna be disappointed anyway.
    He wants 6 universals.
Just like he wanted a "transphasic battlecloak" on the Regent (and calls her a dud since she doesn't have it) because he gets killed by BoPs in PvP and wants some kind of "hyperproboat."

Most likely we'll see it being a science answer to the regent boff layout wise
as for the dual heavies , im pretty sure it will be able to equip them , it was mentioned in the interview that cannon builds would be possible with this ship if i remember

so no levi , this will not be your god ship , look elsewhere

Actually way back in another thread about the Vesta that I made I wanted Her to be a Sci/crusier hybrid and that is what it looks like to me.

She is almost as big as the Sov - going from the Memory stats she was pretty close in crew/lenght and everything else

    Length:672 meters vs SOV 685.7
    Width:195 meters vs 250.6
    Height:88 meters vs 88.2
    3,321,630 metric tons
    Decks:23-30
    Crew:745-750

She is designed for slipstream - so even Gecko said that they may have her go for 90 sec vs 60 for oddy and 30 for everything else(which is only good for a run from one end of a long sector to another - but hey with omega eng it would cut that down to 45 sec and the cooldown to 1 min - that would be good)

And the thing was that she could load dual canons up front - just like an escort- whether they do that in game I don't know - but one thing i do know is that the designer has been pretty fussy about her matching what his design/load-out indicates.

Also she was describe as incredibly nimble and able to bring the cannons to bear easily so I would not be surprised to see close to intrepid-like turn rate - althoght intrepid is much smaller so maybe less.

Yes i was just remembering that - in the interview the guest taked about her having dual canons up front and what about dual heavies - Gecko confirmed that if the give her the ability to load canons up front the code would then allow any canon to be loaded up front - heavies included.

But I have to disagree about the god ship - the Regend was pretty much DOA sales wise compared to the oddy - if they want to have a year end sales hit then they better come out with something spectacular.

sales have nothing to do with it

He's not talking about this ship (we don't know its stats anyway), he's talking about levi3's obsession with making Federation C-Store ships ever and ever more powerful.

As long as they continue to keep churning out Fed ships one after the next on a semi monthly bases that's good enough for me. No need to waste any presious Dev time on KDF ships - just Fed.

you really do just like to try and troll them dont you
KDF need new ships and content a hell of a lot more than the federation does
i dont see why they dont release two ships at a time on the store , one fed , one klingon...

and yes , i know what you're likely to say ' oh kdf is smaller so they shouldnt get anything , fed is where money is etc etc '

Well if it can mound dual heavies it better have 9 or better turnrate or they will just be for show. If they give another ship a turnrate of 7 well "Dud Ahoy".

The real question is are we gonna get a sci ship with more than a 2 slot eng and tac that will really tell us what the ship will be made of.

if it has a 4 slot tac 3 slot sci and at least enough eng for 2 eptX and a eng heal then yes god boat away.

Personally, I'll settle for a science ship that just has a 4th weapon slot for either front or back. I could see them putting a 4th weapon slot on the aft just to make sure it doesn't become too overpowered, regardless of what it's station setup is.
