In Santa Cruz, down on the beach next to the boardwalk is the mouth of the San Lorenzo River. Running over the river, and behind the boardwalk are some train tracks, and a Trestle. That also has a small foot path over it on the side. The river under that trestle is very wide and shallow. You can wade across it in the summer.

As a kid, in the 80's, I remember a guy who had dove from the trestle into the river. Hit the bottom and broken his neck. He sued the city. They had to put up "No Diving" signs all along the foot path.

Oh yeah, and that Trestle (and the Boardwalk) were featured in the first Lost Boys flick too... Amongst other Santa Cruz land-marks and local icons... A little off topic... Okay, way off topic, but I had to chime in as another SC local in the 80s... *Woot*...

TODO for Devs: Additional melee action and associated accolades.

I heard a story about an elderly man that bought a Winnebego, took it home, packed it, and went on a trip. While driving down the road, he decided he needed to go to the bathroom. He sets the cruise control, gets up and walks to the back of the RV. Wakes up in a ditch. He sues Winnebego and wins. SO if you ever look in your vehicle drivers manual and wonder why there is the "WARNING: Cruise control will not steer the vehicle" in it, now you know. Sad to think that stupidity pays.
