Long pigs! I approve! Although technically, I'm not human. (I haven't done much to develop my currently-unique-and-unnamed race, but now that I have extra character slots for the foundry, that might change!)
I hope you will be in touch when you make your Deferi character, we would like to welcome you in the fleet of course, but in the very least know your Deferi!
Thanks for the feedback. I have no problem reading the blue texts, but sometimes things look different on other peoples computers. If you could provide a screenshot I can see what you see and get what needs to be adjusted. Because it needs to be a balanced website, of course.
I have no problem anymore.
But yesterday (this night) was my screen on full brightness and I was tired because it was night.
So that was the problem :P
And he will be a science guy. I'll whack up a pic of him in this thread when I'm done. And run the Foundry missions with him in my away team, so the rest of the crew can learn about him.

A Romulan Strike Team, Missing Farmers and an ancient base on a Klingon Border world. But what connects them? Find out in my First Foundary mission: 'The Jeroan Farmer Escapade'
Good name! Science is typical for the Deferi. (a Boff I presume?) If you give me his name, pic, job description/rank and the ship he serves on, I will register him in the Deferi Citizen Registry.
I think its a brilliant theme song! I always found humans looking slightly pork-like with the wierd skin and big nostrils. But I was wondering why so many humans look like replica's of (the older) Tom Jones?
We shouldn't pick on the humans just because they bear resemblance to piglets or monkeys. I have several humans in my crew and with the right attention and education they can become reasonably balanced. I find they adapt fairly well.

Yeah, he's a BOFF.
I can give you some details for the database.
Name: Pannu Nuuti
Rank: Lt
Division: Science
Job description: Works in the main science lab. Will add to this once I have read up a bit more of Deferi skills.
Also serves on the U.S.S. Archer (NX class ship) when Admiral Stunshock flies this ship for official 'Fly the Flag' ceremonies.
His skills are mostly passive/defensive, like Science Team, Tractor Beam repulsor, Electro Gravitic field and Tricorder scan. I felt they were things that were most Deferi like.
And here he is on his first away mission. Investigating D'arsay grave sites on an unknown world.

He performed well on his first away mission. Emony gave him a glowing report, so I think he will be a valuable contribution to the crew.
I just hope the Breen refugee onboard doesn't take offense if they should meet.

I love it, you folks are doing a good job. I'm tempted to start a Defari alt.
What traits do you reccomend for a male Defari?
Listen to that temptation Tudenom, it's very balanced!
On traits, we haven't really worked out what would be typical for the Deferi. Deferi are very versatile anyway. But certain things make sense:
Agressive traits do not fit with the Deferi character (agressive, fury, etc.). Deferi have no telekenetic or telepathic powers. Traits like Pacifist go very well.
As far as specialty, many Deferi choose Science of course (Deferi are big on medical training), but in Defera Starfleet all specialities are needed, so if you want to be a fleet member, then we encourage to pick something that will fit the specific bio of your Deferi.
PS
I must say 'Defari' is a very (tres) 'chique' way to say Deferi but we dont insist on such niceties. May the balance be with you.
I'm afraid that is a common misconception. The Deferi are not reptillian nor are they cold-blooded. They are warm-blooded, with actually a bodytemperature somewhat warmer than humans.
Deferi as a species are actually genetically closest to races like the Bolians and the Orion. It is believed the Preservers (or the 'Seeders' before them) spread humaniod life in genetic groups that were paired in four races each (like Gorn, Retilian, Saurian, Letheans, or Rigelian, Vulcan, Romulan, and fourth unknown, etc., etc.). At least, this is how the Deferi scientists have traced the spread of the humanoids through DNA, not all races subscribe to this theory.
No, sorry about that. The content already exists, but it is not posted yet. It will be soon, under 'Deferi Physiology'. It's founded in existing Star Trek Lore (sort of, Memory Beta).

Where did you find all this Deferi info?
I thought the Deferi were descended from frog-like creatures personally.
I don't Letheans aren't reptilian. I've never heard of Retilians.

Mintakans(sp?) are Vulcanoid...
Oh, it all comes from the Defera University library. To Deferi it is sort of common knowledge. The main body of this work (on DNA studies) is from dr. Vieno Asku, a Deferi scientist who worked with dr. Richard Galen and took the work further after his death. But the main knowledge about the Preservers comes from Iku Uunu, who lived more than 6000 years ago and brought about the Great Balancing.
Letheans are indeed reptilian. http://www.stowiki.org/Lethean The Retilians are questionable, their existence is based on second hand sources.
But the Mintakans, very good point! We need to inform Defera University of this, they might be the missing race. This needs to be examined.
As to frogs, the Deferi are simply not froglike. Maybe that's the idea because of the male's thick skin and slit eyes, however, if you look at the female she does not have those traits. This is simply a (male) evolutionary adaptation, due to the thick jungle enviroment where they evolved. The dimorphism of the Deferi is extreme. The morphology of the Deferi, however, is not like frogs at all. It is only their skincolor and the male adaptations that give rise to that idea.
"First of all, it's not dalogorn. Second, I've been taught not to go to random websites. That's why I go strictly to forums related to the games I'm interested in, the STO wiki, the Stargate wiki, YouTube, and Memory Alpha."
You just beat your own argument up. I wasn't taught to go to specific sites, but not to just randomly click every link ever posted by somebody. :P
No is no, so stay away or talk about other things. This attention seeking might be nice for you, but all the other people in this thread are really irritated by it, in case you missed the hints.
I'm going to hit 15 next month, and it's not attention seeking. It's just persistent asking.
P.S. And quit calling me Dalagorn, Dalogorn, and so on. :P
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
DaloLorn, its no. Nein. Non. Nee. Njet. Niente. Oya. Ne. Jok. Daong. Nann. Nese. Nie. Nei.
NO NOOO NOOOOO NOOOOOOOO
You are not getting what you want. That might upset you, but no-one is going to type out whole instructions that are just a mouseclick away because you are a surreal character that does not understand that a firewall and an anti virus application make it relatively safe to browse internetsites you might not have heard of before.
So deal with it.
Fixed it for you. :P
And now that's done, I can make a sensible (hopefully) response: Better not push your luck.

Nuuti looks great, very distinctive. Love it.
I posted him in the Defera Citizen Registry http://www.defera.org/citizen-registry.html, so he's an official Deferi now!
I hope he will make us proud and bring balance to your ship(s)!

Very interesting! Thanks for posting that.
Your new thread gives some awnsers, but...
Will there be more content on the whole story about the Preservers in relation to the Balance, and how all of that works?
All in good time..........................................
Actually, that will be in the Deferi Literature section...it's being worked on.
