Hello guys, I'm kinda new on the forums but a VA in game, and I am looking for some advice on deflectors.
Today while doing elite STFs I got a MACO Mk XII deflector array
but after looking at it against the stats from my purple MK XI positron array [PrtG] [Em] [Stl] to me it seems worse on paper for tanking ( im an engineer in a star cruiser )than my old one, due to seemingly less shield bonuses even though the MACO chucks in some other rubbish
The stats:
M.A.C.O Mk XII Deflector Array:
+17.5 Starship Shield Emmiters
+26.2 Starship Structural Integrity
+17.5 Starship Shield System
+8.8 Electro-plasma system
+17.5 Starship Inertial Dampeners
+17.5 Graviton Generators
Mk XI Positron Deflector Array [PrtG] [Em] [Stl]
+24.4 Starship Shield Emmiters
+16.2 Starship Structural Integrity
+24.4 Starship Shield System
+8.1 Starship Particle Generator
So if somebody could tell me which one I should stick to for tanking I would be very grateful, oh and I am running a 3 piece MACO atm because I need the assimilated console before trying out the Borg 2 piece set bonus ( which is supposed to be good for tanking).
Thanks

The reason is because you get a passive hull heal with the 2-peice and a shield heal with the 3-peice.

As for the Borg deflector, I know that lots of people say that it is good but I really don't see that in the stats, if I was going for the Borg 2 piece set bonus I would go console, engines anyway as the MACO/positron emitters have a lot more shield and structural boosts. saying that I like my MACO engines too.....

None of the Borg pieces are that good by themselves, save the Console.
What makes the Borg set so widespread is:
1. The 2 piece bonus.
2. The fact that you only need 1 piece+Console to get that bonus, so you can get another set's 2-piece bonus as well.
3. The 3 piece bonus.
Otherwise, the Shields are fairly terrible, the Engines aren't Hyper (then again, most set Engines aren't) and the Deflector is thoroughly mediocre.
