Rules:

Well we don't have a lot actually...but simple guidelines are as follows :

1. NO ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR OR HEAVY TROLLING

Common sense says no abusive behaviour or heavy trolling but we all know that right? Being abusive puts people off using the channel and less people means less games... think about it, you might only end up back in the pug queues, and we don't want that. After that everything goes.... within reason... so I ask that you respect that for the good of the channel and your own games.

2. ONCE YOU KNOW THE OPTIONALS!!

Please make sure you know the optionals before joining games and make your best effort to accomplish them, work as team!

Please do not join games unless you know the missions. While some members are open to showing new guys the ropes, training should really be done in fleet before coming to channel. That being said I can't stop you...:rolleyes: so if you do decide to come on channel please at least check out the fine post below, detailing all STF's missions and how best to run them.

The only exception I believe being Cure Space Elite , CSE, where MRRMLL is much quicker, safer and preferable and can be easily explained as :

Middle probes, right probes, right cube, middle cube, left probes/cube, kill ALL raptors before middle cube....and take the bops at the cube you're working on.

If its you're first time, let people know and watch chat, follow the other guys lead and you'll all get along fine.

When in doubt ask on channel. For those of you who do know what you're doing we simply ask that if anybody is on that is a bit lost, help them out, it lessens the chances of getting bad games for all in future.

3. PLEASE DO NOT GRIEF/ARGUE ON CHANNEL ABOUT A POOR RUN

No STF channel is perfect and the odd time bad games might occur, such is life,move on.
These simple things can mean we all get good games without drama and arguments.

4. NO SELLING ON CHANNEL

To ensure the channel runs smooth and stays that way we have a 3 STRIKE POLICY in place and details can be found at :

This policy will not affect the vast majority of you who enjoy the channel without issue on a regular basis so don't worry!

But aware for those that do enjoy causing trouble you will not be doing so for very long...

As the channel has grown I have taken on admins to make sure the channel continues to run smoothly. Operators DO have the ability to mute users and issue strikes but will only do so for good reason as detailed in the strike policy above. Please respect the Operators as you would myself, we're a nice bunch and nobody gets muted without good reason.

Make sure to create private matches when making groups, and establish the plan with EVERYONE in match window before starting the game otherwise you might as well just pug.

If looking for a game please create games, don't wait for someone else too, take the initiative if you see no one is running the game you want.

Create a game : Missons tab >> PVE >> Create Private >>

Announce with LF$M - GAME - pick an inv >> right click whoever types your inv and add to challenge match , see easy... eg LFM- CSE- Huzzah! You can't use that one though its mine....

On one more important note : The channel is open and public to all and will stay that way, I might be repeating myself but please don't join games unless you know the missions and optionals. We're a good bunch and like to keep that way, excessive trolling and abuse on channel cannot be tolerated and will be dealt with.

Don't forget also, during Fleet Event hours, feel free to make/find groups on channel for space and ground fleet events, personally I love a bit of Starbase Defence with a good team, get on it!! hope to see you all on channel, pew pew!

Please for the love of Gut, kill the Neg and the Raptor before moving on to the next Cube! There is nothing worst than a defender who is taking all three lanes who is all of a sudden tractored and bum ***** by a rogue Neg and Raptor.

I always try and call the target, so everyone gets the idea, get him before you get iso'd!!
also on KASE, for donatra... none of this 5km stuff! get in behind her and DPS her!! even if she cloaks she'll die much quicker and remember she cant shoot you if you're behind her, simples! at 5km you do half damage and cant stay out of her arc as easy.

Scary as it maybe, agreed. The Fleet I belong to has a strict no pulling people from PublicEliteSTF to fill spaces when we have several runs going at the same time. Mostly the officers run members who reach lvl 50 through a couple of STF and then try to get them into EliteSTF channel. But there seems to have been a major drop off of players that the EliteSTF channel is no longer as active as it once was. There is also a more "Elite" STF channel which shall remain nameless where some of the best of the best hang, but this one is even deader then dead. So PublicEliteSTF has become a fall back.

PublicEliteSTF seems to be filled with people who believe they know things better then the person running/leading the STF and go do their own thing, like in CSE not following MRRML or TRIBBLE off and just flying around shooting BoPs.

I have to disagree, i run a lot on games on channel, CSE being my most regular game ( no CD ) and ive never come across people doing as you say. We have a 90-95% success rate in general and as with all stf channels the odd game is going to go awry. but in general majority of people know the missions and run them very well. Lol, ill tell you what I do love though, guys that claim to be elite, no matter what channel they're on, may know the missions well and then claim not to be able to mind probes or kang cause A) im in a sci ship carrier C) dont have the dps.... if you dont have the dps to mind probes or kang you're pretty much no use on anything else and are essentially on a free ride. These are guys id have more issue with then noobs who once told the tricks of the trade can excel at stfs. Theres no reason any sci ship/carrier/crusier sci/tac/engi or otherwise cant hit a minimum 3k dps in stfs ( enough to be useful to missions or mind probes kang etc) other then BAD BUILDS.

Now we all know Elitestf exists. But not everyone has access for a multitude of reasons, PublicEliteSTF caters to these folk and those that like a more chilled out social atmosphere while grinding, so there's no reason why two quality channels can't exist. We have guys on both channels and some that will prefare one over the other. Quality is same on both, so CHOICE is the deciding factor, different flavours of the same dead borg Hope to see you all on channel!!

No no at all, you're more then welcome to your take on it bad games happen, but my point being, people only remember the bad games. If someone runs 20 games and 2 are dodgy, they'll only remember and talk about the two dodgy ones.....

It is a fact of life, bad games will happen and have happened on any and all stf channels i've ever used. But I'd prefer to focus on the vast majority of games that go off regularly without a hitch.
Fact is eitherwways, using any stf channel automatically drastically increases your chances of good games over Pugging. *shudder* as you can establish roles before starting or spot the noob.

You say the majority of bad experiences your fleet has had, have come off PublicEliteSTF? This in itself does not mean the majority of games you've run on channel have been bad, only that you feel a few games have a good awry a little moreso then other channels.

While I havent had any bad experiences myself except maybe the odd bad build I also know the channel (nor any) is not perfect, but it has shown that an open public channel can still provide high quality games on a regular basis and comparable to other private channels. This is from feedback from guys that are on channel regulars. Private channels can not guarantee quality no more then we can, and can only ensure anybody abusive or not following rules can be kicked. We have less rules of course, and are more relaxed on chat policies but can still mute to enforce antiabusive behaviour when needs be, thankfully even with over 900 people subscribed we have not had to deal with an extreme cases in this way.

I digress!! And its a pity if a few of your runs on channel were not the best, bum luck i guess... Hope you get good runs where ever you're getting guys from anyways!

Wanted to chime in on this thread.

Bad runs will happen, no matter what channel you use. Since coming to this channel I have met a good group of guys and even gals on here who are dedicated in having a good solid run of estf's. I myself rarely get a bad run with the group from this channel, but it has happened. Like wild said, bad builds or the odd "noob" that comes into the group expecting to not be noticed. Or even yet, people are tired and are not in there 100% game zone. But majority of the regulars in this channel will gladly give some tips on building yourself into the ultimate weapon.

There are some great guides out there, and even look on youtube for some solid clips of runs and how to see how they actually work. Just make sure you run your normals before doing Elites. Rushing to elite level expecting to pull off a miracle rarely happens when your just starting out, theres alot to do with them.

This is a great channel, and i suggest anyone who is wanting to have a great elite run to utilize this channel, because its defenetly better then puggin it. Trust me.

Hey Scion, you don't need one, the channel is open, you search it from the channel tab PublicEliteSTF and join, or type (copy and paste) /channel_join PublicEliteStf into your chat, and it will add you to channel, simples!

Ah, a new STF channel. Good, as soon as the servers are back up I'll join it.

I still am in the EliteSTF channel, but for some reason I'm muted (I never trolled EVER). I asked the admins, but they never answered.

The only thing I can think of is because I'm a needer during loots, and people would get mad about that. Of course if someone specified a match rule, I wold follow it, but most didn't.

So I should ask, is there a channel Needing/Greeding rule?

It's generally assumed you 'need' everything unless it's discussed in the lobby prior to starting the game - have fun! See you in the STFs!

Great to have you on channel, need greed wise, it's up to individual games to work out loot rules, so i recommend getting in the habit of confirming loot rules in match window before starting just as you would roles and who's minding what. In general myself i always run need all to keep things simple and to avoid any fights.

Hi all,

I'm delighted to say PublicEliteStf is now 1200+ members! Whoop! Thanks again to all for the support, running games and making the channel what it is!!

As channels grow the need to ensure games run smoothly can become more challenging. Thankfully at PublicEliteStf the majority of games already run without a hitch with only a small minority that go... a little awry... to help maintain the quality of games and to keep the channel running smoothly we're introducing some new guidelines to help keep everything ticking over nicely as the channel grows further.

Don't worry for a lot of you the new guidelines will have little effect and we won't be implementing any draconian measures. PublicEliteStf has been built on being an easy going channel and we want to maintain this. The new guidelines are only to improve quality of games and help ensure bad games stay in the minority.

Having listened to feedback from various members over the last little while I've decided the channel has reached at point at which we need extra admins to help out.... uh oh... admins... But huzzah! It's not all bad,why? Well cause we're making everyone admins!! Kind of... for the details listed on the next post we need you!! To mail @wildchild8 with issues.

I will still be the only main admin with power to mute people and the channel etc, with the muting bug and the chance of PERMAMUTE this is not something I want to happen to people over small issues and in general muting will be kept as a final straw in most cases.
With this in mind the new guidelines will involve a 3 strike rule for issues concerning not knowing optionals, leaving games unneccessaryily eg if optional (such as IGE) happens to be blown, causing excessive trouble on channel etc. Thankfully these people are in the minority, out of 1200+ people on channel, there are only 2 guys currently muted, and unfortunately will remain so due to the muting bug.

But if you are one of these people.... its time to play nice, tough love baby!

PUBLICELITESTF 3 STRIKE POLICY

Players are asked to self regulate the channel, meaning you're all the eyes and ears of the channel. If you come across people in game causing the problems listed below please mail @wildchild8 or a channel operator with issues. Please include SCREENS of any chat using a link shortener as we can not copy and paste long links from mail. Offending Players @handles will be noted and if multiple reports of separate incidents are received strikes will be issued.

THANKFULLY THIS WILL NOT APPLY TO THE VAST MAJORITY OF YOU. ENJOY THE CHANNEL IN CONFIDENCE

If you have been reported you will receive notification for the sake of fairness, upon further reports strikes will be issued. We will try to be as fair as we can, but ultimately if you're muted its only for a good reason

3 STRIKES = 3 DAY MUTE

SUBSEQUENT 3 STRIKES WILL = 1 WEEK, 2 WEEKS, A MONTH ETC ETC.

REMEMBER WITH ALL MUTINGS AND THE MUTING BUG THERE IS A CHANCE OF PERMAMUTE

So be smart and don't risk. It's something we hate doing and would hate even more for someone to be permamuted. That being said its tough love and if you're muted there was good reason.

STRIKEABLE OFFENCES:

1. NOT KNOWING THE OPTIONALS: Make sure you read http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/sh...d.php?t=250898 for the basics of running STF's. The guide is the BASICS and some missions are run slightly differently. If you are new on channel and don't know the optionals, please do not join games, or at the very least let guys know who you might be running with. Guys could easily decide to give you training and tips, we were all noobs once so its a good idea to let people know. If not you run the risk of getting reported and as such the risk of being muted. So don't take the chance and be honest. But please in general get training from your fleet before coming on channel to begin with.

2. REPEATEDLY LEAVING GAMES : Please do not leave games unnecessarily. If you can still complete the mission if the optional happens to be blown please do so. Guys reported for repeatedly doing so will face strikes and muting.

3. EXCESSIVE TROLLING : While we encourage people to have fun on channel, hangout and chat away while RUNNING GAMES, guys just on to cause trouble on channel will face strikes. Extreme cases will face muting no questions asked.

IF you encounter any issues on channel mail @wildchild8 Please DO NOT rant on channel for a half hour.
This in itself may lead to arguements developing on channel and you could end up picking up a strike yourself.
Channel Operators will be on hand to defuse situations should they arise.

Hi all!!

Just a quick post on a little update on channel! First of all thank you all again for making the channel what it is, we're currently at 1400 members! And still growing!! With this in mind and in addition to the new strike policy noted above, I have taken on 3 channel operators....

Never fear! The channel will still be run as it always has, and the majority of you will not even have to deal with myself or an operator, so its all good! We're just here to keep games running and to deal with an situations that may come up on channel.

The new Channel Operators will have the ability to mute and strike users as per the strike policy, but will only do so with good reason. I ask that you respect the Channel Operators as you would myself, we're a nice bunch and only here to defuse any agro or situations that may occur. Thankfully doesnt happen all that often and means we all have an easy job, and the channel runs smoothly! Yeoow!

The new Channel Operators are as follows:

@pokersmith1 : One of the founding and leaders of Elite Defence Starfleet which without its members and support in the early days we would not have PESTF. He also runs a mean ground STF.

@BrokenMirror : Previous admin on ESTF with a wealth of experience at troll taming.

@Gorefeast : Usually hangs around doffjobs and PESTF he's pretty much part of the furniture at this stage.

Again thanks to all that support and make the channel what it is and I hope the channel can continue to run smoothly and go from strength to strength.

Hi all!

Good to be back in STF land right?! After a shaky start to S7 I'm delighted STF's and private queues have be restored to their former glory.... well close enough!

PublicEliteSTF is back to full strength with games and group running regularly again.

Contrats to all that have no made the channel 1900+ strong! I still amazes me how well the channel is doing and still maintaining good quality groups. When I started the channel back a few months ago I never imagined we'd grow to this size, I was just looking for a hangout to rock STF's that was fun for all.

So I thank you all again for making the channel what it is!

I'd also like to announce the new additions to the admin team.

Both are fellow Elite Defence Starfleet fleet leaders and good guys.

Don't forget the vast majority of you will never have to deal with an admin, and its very simple for the minority that may, just settle down and it's all good.
