On lvl 50 how do I get the skill points to get admiral 2?

Says I need another 13,001 skill points to get to Vice Admiral 2.

So how do I get it? What should be doing to get the skill points? PvE what?

You probably need to distribute more points to open up the admiral level skills. If you've used all your points then you're going to need to respec probably and choose a specfic skill layout that allows you to get what you want. Personally I only put a very limited amount of points into ground skills and focus on things like weapon skills and shield/hull skills on space.

There is no Vice Admiral 2.

Level 50 (Vice Admiral) is level cap.

Cryptic's sense of humour. Any skill points you get after Lv50 go to Boff points.

So what happens with the repec respec token? So to open up I just shift all the points to admiral levels is that how I would do it?

You can't do this because they your allocation of Ground and Space points are split now (not one big pool).

The only other bonus is the Admiral's Jacket, which you can get in the tailor. If you have both then you are already at the skill cap.

Where do you get the Jacket? Where in the tailor is the option? Found it!.

Maybe they had planned it to go higher but forgot to delete the admiral 2.

At some point they are probably considering raising the level cap. In the mean time, there are diminishing returns on skills once you hit the end of the "green" level in the skill trees, so it's better to save those extra points to spend in the higher ranked skills. There is no way that you will have enough points to fill all of the skill trees to maximum, so you'll need to specialize, spending those points where you find the most benefit for your playing style. If you respec, remember that you won't be able to spend points in higher shills without spending a minimum in lower skills.

If you are going to respec, find a good skill planner and use it first. STOwiki has an excellent one.

That's probably how much we'd have to get in order to get to Vice Admiral 2 once they raise the level cap. They might've put that in there before deciding to cap the level at 50. :)

    Whats the reason why though?
First, keep in mind that the T5 ship you get at level 40 is as tough as the any of the 3 Retrofit ships choices you used to get at level 50. You're not losing any "power," you're simply not getting another ship at level 50. IE, the Sovereign isn't weaker then the Galaxy R.

As for why you not longer get a free Retrofit ship at VA, there are 2 reasons:

1: It was made a Vet Reward token to try and entice people to buy a Gold membership.

2: Cryptic wants players to buy C-Store ships at VA so they can continue to make money and continue to produce the game.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

have a few friends love to say hello

    * Long Range Science Vessel retrofit; similar in appearance to the U.S.S. Voyager / Intrepid Class; it has Ablative generators (increased armor) though it can only fire torpedoes while that power is active.

    * Exploration Cruiser retrofit; similar in appearance to the U.S.S. Enterprise D / Galaxy Class; it can perform the dramatic Saucer Separation which has been seen in movies and on television. This turns you into an escort with a saucer pet that fires phasers on your target.

    * Tactical Escort retrofit of the Defiant Class; similar in appearance to the U.S.S. Defiant; it has cloaking capabilities for the utmost in stealth and punishing weaponry.

A little elaboration on what "turning you into an escort" means:
Your crew size is set to 100 (the others stay in the saucer).
Your turning rate roughly doubles.

The +5 to all systems power bonus is replaced by a +15 to Weapons bonus

Your shield modifier is reduced from 1.0 to 0.9

Your inertia rating decreases, allowing for faster acceleration and stops
However, unlike an Escort, you retain the 4 Forward/4 Aft weapons arrangement, and do not gain the Escort's ability to mount Dual Cannons/DHC, so you will be fighting with Cruiser type weaponry.

    This.

It's easier to program a leveling block than it is to create a hard set cap and then break the wall and add more levels.

I just hope when they do increase the level cap they allow us to transfer some of the points we've built up back into the level SP pool.

Not all, that would be broken as hell, I'm sitting on 5mil points as it is.

They should let us turn in extra Expertise for Fleet Marks or something like we get to do with Duty Officer Commendation XP. Maybe one Fleet Mark per several hundred Expertise or so.
