Seriously.

I've been in over 4 different fleets over a period of 2 months. EVERY SINGLE TIME, I joined the fleet, Participated + Contributed, got to know fleet members and became a good part of each fleet, etc. And then everyone went on Vacation leaving some idiot in the Fleet Creator's place, who promptly invites and promotes everyone in sight that's not in a fleet into the fleet and promotes them to the highest rank possible (Like adding non-RPers or Childish-talking Griefers into an RP fleet), steals ALL the fleet Credits, marks, Dilith, Items, etc. and Leaves.

THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES OVER IN A ROW.

4

GAWD

DAYUM

TIMES.

Seriously. The STO Community can be MUCH Better than this. Stop it, guys. If you want decent members in your fleets, keep track of them better. Especially the higher ranks.

I feel the same way. I have been in this game since the beginning and i have been in 6 different fleets. 3 were like the ones you were in where everyone got bored and had there A.D.D. kick in and left for another game. One fleet was all drama lol. the fifth i join to help them start the fleet. And the sixth was the one I started and still in lol.

In the past I joined those fleets to meet new people and to have fun. Now in my fleet i do that but now I dont have to worry about some idiot promoting and stealing lol

I also Feel your pain, I promptly helped a couple of ladies start a fleet within the first 20 Minutes of Me restarting the game as KDK, - they merely wanted to create a fleet for extra Storage....

9 months later we are now four fleets, and about 500 members ( plus alts) strong... the leadership has been shared with other players who share common goals and morales.. so if One goes inactive there are 3+ other leaders to take up the mantle without a change in the fleets direction or standards...

I also have a private fleet for extra storage myself now and 2 Alts i use to look at other fleets, oddly enough the only fleets I have found that were not just a group of ninja invites or some power tripping leader's exstension of his ego, are really small fleets with very nice leaders...

it may take a while to find the right fit for your fleet needs.
    Everyone makes mistakes,
it's how we correct them that shows our true character....

Not surprised. Fleets in this game, much like most I have played really are all about the "leader" and that's it. Been in one fleet since I started and that was plenty for me. Rude people, general self aggrandizing and of course the couple of sycophants who are "important". As a rule they promise you all types of things to get you in, then of course are pretty much the opposite of what they claim. I learned long ago that fleets/guilds/whatever they call them in any game as a rule are a total joke. Coming from eve online I am not surprised someone ripped off your fleet, I am actually surprised it doesn't happen more often to be quite honest. Then again eve is about 5% gameplay and 95% meta. Best of luck if you decide to try another though.

Do a little research about a fleet you are looking to join. Google them. Check out their website. Stuff like that. Maybe hop into a ventrilo or team speak server with their members and hang out for a while to see how they act/ condone themselves. Don't just join a random fleet to be in a fleet.

Eventually with a little homework you can join an awesome fleet or perhaps start one yourself.

I feel for you....THIS is part of the reason i never joined a fleet....even though I have been here since beta...The DRAMA.

SO I started my own fleet........there are no obligations......come and go as you want......

Sure many like the organized fleet events and all that jazz but the flavor of mine is sor lone wolves and "odd hours" players.

My motto has always been " If I want drama I'll watch TNT they know drama"
Today we fight the GAULS......monstrous and HAIRY beyond reason.

If you're looking for a fleet that is the exact opposite of everyhting you experienced in your last 4 fleets, look us up:
    349th Assault task Force
I'm not going to waste kilobytes on fluff. We're a good fleet, well organized, no drama, and most of all, smart.

I have to agree with my good friend Johnny here. My fleet has never been that way. I know I have personally spent millions on gear for new VAs to get them started. But if you just join any random fleet then you will continue to have the same experiances. Dont be afraid to ask members of a fleet questions about thier fleet before you join.

On a final note, the only thing I see alot of folks doing is once they join a fleet they kinda expect to be given things. It simply does not work that way. No one can expect to join a fleet and immediately have access to the resources that they had nothing to do with as far as gathering or running STFs or fleet actions. To even think you should is just asinin. At least for the fleet Im in the more you give the more you get.
