Rear Admiral (Lower Half) - no new ship?

I'm not totally sure if this is supposed to be the case, but I was quite surprised to find I didn't get a free new ship at Rear Admiral (Lower Half). The list of rewards suggests "Permission to buy next rank of ships" and "New ship". Yet, the selection at ship requisitions offers only ships that cost nasty amounts of dilithium.

Am I missing something here? Did I fall victim to a glitch? Or is there anything overly ambiguous about the term "New ship" that I blatantly misunderstood? :rolleyes:

    Yes, you get free ship choices at RALH, but you don't get to choose from every ship that is listed in the Shipyard. For example, if you want a Cruiser you can pick a Starcruiser or an Assault Cruiser for free. For Science you can get the Reconnaissance or Deep Space. For Escorts you can get the Patrol or Advanced.

    Those are the last free ship choices you get.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    Did you see Admiral Quinn and than follow his quest?

    That's the only thing I can think of that could have gone wrong.
    I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001. :confused:

    Scatty me. Thanks a lot for pointing it out. Now I can finally enjoy the Deep Space Science vessel's lovable weirdness ;).

    Had the same issue with my klingon character recently. Forgot that you have to go through the whole promotion quest to get the new ship token.

    Cool, glad I found this. I will be there soon on my Fed player. Think he is lv36 or lv37 last time I was on. I usually do all the missions I get so I would end up getting it eventually. Thanks for the heads up. I'm looking forward to getting my Sovereign class. That will be my last free ship and best ship I have til I can buy the Galaxy Dreadnaught or Odyssey.

    This happened to me as well, but I think it was more of a bug/glitch. I got the mission to go see Quinn, he tells me to go get a new ship and I go up the shipyard and open up the store and I didn't have the token to get the ship. I logged twice and finally had to drop the mission and go back to Quinn again and this time it worked, not sure what the issue was.

    Been awhile since I got a L40 token but I think you don't get the token until you talk to the ship requisition officer.

    And it has been known to bug.

    In fact, make sure you get your commendation in the auditorium, and see the tailor before you go to get your new ship like quin says. They wont give starships out to any old officer. . :P
