Since last thurs (Aug 9th) patch I only get green from "Fabricate Prototype Console from Alien Artifact". Before this I normally got blue, the occasional Purple and the seldom seen green as have less chance of green then combined purple and blue.
The last 10 consoles now have been crappy green ones!! Statistically that shouldn't happen...
There is less than a 50/50 chance of getting a green and I got 10 in a row so far!
Anyone else having this??? Maybe just really bad luck or the algorithm hates me...
I do honestly wonder sometimes how true the 'success' rate can be. When I send two purple level security officers with one critical chance bonus each, and STILL fail with like a 5 to 7 percent chance, it makes me wonder.
Unfortunately, the game just kicks you in the shins sometimes about this.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
I did the misson 7 times during the last days. I got 4 green, 1 blue and today one purple. One time i got absolutly nothing, even if the desricption told me i got a blue one. Could have been because of server lags, it was really disturbing this evening.
With these small numbers of missions its hard to tell something about the statistics. But at now it seems pretty normal for me as I have a 22% chance for getting purple. Could have been bad luck on your end...
Well I'll build up my EC again and buy some more Strange and try again. Hate paying for strange, but hardly ever see the mission when I am on anymore. Crappy gaming luck lately I guess. lol

I've noticed it can be a little easier if you buy the Powered ones. Because if you are still buying the rare particle traces, between those and the Strange artifact, it'll roughly equal the Powered in cost.

I just finished the repeatable chain last night...
7 guys did it...i got 1 green, 1 purple, 5 blue consoles...
1 Eng team each faction, all purple, no positive traits, but no neg either.
The odds don't seem to have changed much, IMOHPO.
Kinda sounds like ya just had a cple bad luck runs.

Grind "investigate ruins" doff missions. A crit... MIGHT get you an artifact instead of a particle trace.
There's a half dozen thread on this. Some players don;t feel that they're getting the correct percentages.
The first time I did it, I got a purple console that I sold in under 5 minutes for 35m ecs. Got nothing but green afterwards.
Do what I do. Obtain the strange alien artifact either from a doff assignment or via buying it from the exchange, nuke it and sell the powered alien artifact back via the exchange. I make 500k each time and I do it a couple times a day.
Hardest part about it is remembering to leave a doff assignment slot available.
I run the mission with 5 purple system engineers with resolve and stubborn - get 24% purple chance and 24% green and 52% blue
I rarely get a green - those doffs are much cheaper now - around the low 40's - used to be 50 million ec at least
Interesting, i will like to know others people precents and successful rates, and yes are cheap but when you spend over 60 millions and see same results as before you start to question the mechanics, (really concerned tbh).
I've seen both streaks of green after green and a point at which within 6 tries I crafted purple antiproton, phaser, and disruptor consoles. I haven't kept precise track of my results, but they seem to be mostly in line with what the expected percentages are.

The mechanics of this quest are buged or deliverated flawed.
