I am wanting to make a suggestion that I personally think would really improve the "Heavy Escort Carrier". I believe there should be an option (Perhaps it should cost some Zen, eg. 200 - but I believe an amply EC cost should be sufficient) that allows you to change your Photon Point Defense System to a different torpedo type - Rather it be Quantum, Chronitron, etc.
If you have any comments on this, or can provide a better board to post this in, then please leave a comment!

I don't know, that sounds pretty cool. I don't fly a HEC myself, but this seems like a reasonable request. Personally though, I am not for anything that would make the Judgement more powerful.

That being said, the ability to put out the same amount of photon torpedos as a Fleet Starbase every 3 minutes is pretty epic.
Even if I usually end up on the business end of those torpedoes.
I don't think it should be usable for Hargh'pengs, or any other kind of 'special' torpedo like that.
Some thoughts about each torpedo type:
All: They shouldn't do as much damage compared to their normal types, because it's mean to be a giant spread of them every which way. The normal photons are already kinda like this.
Quantum: I like the idea already posted.
Plasma: Treat em like a mix of mines and HY ones. The further they have to go, the less DoT they might do, but said DoT could stack.
Transphasics: Longer cooldown than the others, but otherwise are a-ok I feel.
Chroniton: I don't think the proc from these should stack, but if they do, in this case, it should be a lower chance of it happening. Otherwise, these are good.
Tricobalt: Probably the most iffy IMO, because firing up to a dozen Tricobalts every 3 minutes would be astounding. I think they should do less damage, but maybe not be targetable, or still do a considerable amount of damage, but be targetable.
So, it certainly gets my vote for it.

Starbase: Tribblefield Generator.
Not needed. Tribbles spread rapidly on their own.

Everyone knows that a Tribble Point Defense system is a ground based system and only works on Klingons.
