More customization on ships

There are some really cool looking customizations out there that can only be added if you add certain engines or shields. Once you start going into end game those engines and shields become useless. It would be nice if we could start customizing our ships the way the engines and shields you pick up do once you hit level 50. You just don't see any playing in STFs and such with those really cools looks because they can't use them.

I'm blown away by Cryptics lack of Capitalizing on this inevitable cash cow with ship Customization. A few skins and some ship alterations is it. Where is the Zen Store options for it?

    Has anyone here played Vindictus?
That game did just that Idea great.

It works like this. Pay $5(Forget Price) to buy a Rune so you could combine the stats from one Item with the looks from another. Since there are so many great outfits, but you'd rather have the stats from said Uglier outfit, you Pay real money to Merge them.

Reman shield looks + Maco sheild stats, Burns both into one Item, Easy money for them.

Wait wait, they are already thinking of a million ways to gouge lets not give them another. TRIBBLE, I want something usable from a quest that you don't have to buy. Name 1 end game thing usable after this game went F2P you can get from a quest. And Cryptic wouldn't just charge you $5 (which really should be $1). It would be $30 to $50. After it went F2P that is all they can think about.

Alright, so what is another way we can **** the players? Let's throw in some boxes, okay what else? Lets give them outfits that look cool or sexy...okay what else, lets make all the good ships you must have to play Elite and above cost....okay what else.......let's throw in some duty officers...okay what else... Let's make all the new ship weapons random drops you have to buy..... okay what else....

Before when you buy something it went to all characters and now they are changing that as well. Now any ship you buy will have to be bought for each char. No telling how long before any outfit or species will be for only 1 char. All new ship and ground weapons have to be bought. This is a cycle that only ends with never questing again and any little step you take you buy. I wouldn't mind paying a buck or 2 to get something new but they would make it some random crystal that rarely drops out of some stupid box with a .1% of getting it.

Assimilated Module universal console, from Assimilation.
Breen Transphasic Cluster Torpedo, from Out In The Cold.

Also, some of the hybrid weapons (Phased-Polaron, Plasma-Disruptor, Polarized-Tetryon*, there may be others I've forgotten) are pretty effective, one you get past the whole no-modifiers thing.

this is one of Wizard101's main money makers, all end game gear in that game looks pretty bad, but some of the other stuff looks awesome. Just about everyone at end lvl uses it. I wonder why PWE has not added this?

The breen stuff was out before it went F2P and so was the borg stuff.

The weapons you have listed are not End Game equipment and rather bad to use End Game. The new weapons would beat them hands down but they are all random drop from a box you buy.

That is all completely off topic (my fault).

They already have the skins for the shield and engine changes. Just need to add a way to do that by customization. It is sad to only let the lower levels look cool and once you get higher level you have to become a clone. We all need to look cool! Eye candy baby!

My understanding is that Cryptic will not permit having devices that mix and match device functionality and appearance e.g. the Reman shield visual + MACO stats combo - they want players to be able to tell what stats other players have based on their ship/costume appearances. This is why they stopped people from being able to change the color of their beam weapons, for instance.

The main customisation I want to see right now is improved ship interiors - properly scaled, layouts unique to each class, and a variety of carpets/LCARS/wall/door details. I also want to be able to change the costume of my ship interior DOff assignment NPC contacts.

Of course, the only way ship interior revamps will happen is if there is playable content focusing on player's custom ship interiors to go along with it, so unless we see Ground STF missions involving teams of players repelling enemy boarding parties, even this isn't likely to happen anytime soon.

The crafting is suppose to get revamped soon, allowing more customization on ships. On an upcoming season update.

And I've said it before, but I'll say it again.

    F2P is an industry-wide illusion.

To be able to enjoy a game, you've got to pay for it. The most you can do, and ought to do, without wailing to the devs about it, is minimize your expenditure.

Given that this is a 3 year old mmo, I'd say that on top of whatever regular sub you need, you should devote at most 120 bucks to this game. Its the cost of 1 game client and 1 expansion pack. If you have to spend more, then you are spending too much. If you need to spend more than 120 just to succeed, then that is play to win.

I've dropped 60 bucks on this game so far, without a recurring sub. Its a HUGE saving in my opinion. And definitely not P2W.
