I know we are looking at a new faction coming up, a lot of people are thinking it will be the Romulans. And I understand that free to play means new ways of doing things.
And I'll even understand if the New Faction is a pay to unlock feature.
But I'd like to suggest a feature to go along with it.
Non-star fleet and non-Klingon captains. Mercenaries and neutral parties.
Ok so we have paid to unlock a faction. Great, what about all the work and money we've put into the other factions, unlocking races and ships, costumes. Why should we have to lose that.
Why not have the new faction be non-aligned. Maybe even add in a true ship designer, allowing you to assemble some truly beautiful ships, or some ugly cobbled together ones. its a flavor thing.
for example a Klingon bird of prey with a romulan valdore "saucer" or "head"
or any number of combinations.
or a Klingon officer on an atrox ( i think the atrox is just beautiful)
and to top it off any species we have unlocked (Borg included) should be available no matter what faction. or in the case of the former Borg captains, why do they have to be human or Klingon, every race has had battles with the Borg, so any species could have been assimilated.

Because it imposes a fundamental issue with copyright infringement of the franchise that is Star Trek. They don't want ships depicting something that does not follow some form of adherence to Star Trek series and films.
Cryptic has been fairly lenient with some of the "future prositions" of the year 2409, but all this was only done after agreement by CBS.
Compare the Federation to KDF, now tell my that you believe this game could have a 3rd faction?
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001. If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why. When I insult you I won't be discreet about it, I will be precise and to the point stupid.
