Fleet modules are too expensive. Thank you. Oh and for the jag offs that say 'well if you don't wanna throw your money down the toilet, just go on the exchange and buy one from there.'

Its not really feasible considering the lowest priced one I've seen is 9,000,000 EC. Ya i got nine million EC at any given moment so why not right. What is wrong with these people? And no the great majority of players do not want to grind for a bloody year to get it. Because if that's all you did was grind for EC to get this, you wouldn't be able to accomplish anything else in your time limited day for anything else in the game. This idea is only working for people that are either disabled and cant work or simply have other things they would like to do that day.

I would like one too, but like a good boy I have to wait for my birthday, because even my wife thinks its just ludicrous. Especially considering I've already given cryptic or perfect world whatever $50+ so in he-insight i think i deserve a freebie of lets say at least one module, and just because I'm not a subscriber per-say they still know I've given them money. They know. Oh they know.

And for the guy that stared the thread, I'm so sorry that when you express your frustration in a reasonable way and do so in the correct place, and not on some twitter account that I also refuse to take part it, you get **** on and told that you should rethink your ideals. It's the most asinine people that make me laugh and cry.

thing is this: either you invest real money, or your time...with both things you can get anything in this game. Considering you can make 10+ euros an hour in a real job and by playing maybe 1 cent an hour i suggest you wait for your birthday.
    Go pro or go home

I am a f2p idon't get a stripend and even playig for months I just might get 9mill in EC.

I am a F2P player and I too sometimes groan at the grind, however, I made 4 mil just this morning alone so I save my Z's and get an increase to my EC cap. As for fleet ships, I'm in no hurry as it the Captain's skill that makes any ship a viable weapon and contribution to team play, not bought and paid for ships, consoles or whatever. JMHO:rolleyes:

edit: Just since I posted this I go back to the game and made another 1m. Bought a ZP QUantum module under priced at 790k... sold for 1.75m

Between my Stipend and playing I make, on average, 3,000 Zen per month. An average player, just doing their 8,000 Dilithium per day, can make around 900 Zen per month - depending on where the Dilithium Exchange rates are at. That means just by playing and refining Zen for 1 month your 2,000 Zen purchase really only costs you 1,100. Play for 2 months and it only costs you 200 Zen.

C-Store prices are generally high because only the most impatient of players aren't buying things from it with anywhere from a 10% to 100% discount.

Actually it's more like 3.5 months at the current price of zen (210 per pt), since it takes 2000 zen for 4 modules and another 2000 zen for the ship thats going to be upgraded (to get your console).

Unless your a feddie with an already purchased T5 ship- you'll need 1 or 2 upgrade modules and you can put the other 4 your stipend buys on the exchange for 5 mil EC each, then complain to everyone how F2P players are ruining your game.

The post you quoted is talking about a 2,000 Zen module purchase. Not 2,000 for the module and 2,000 for the ship. The thread was about complaining about the price of the modules. So at the current Zen prices you can earn a 2,000 Zen module in less then 2 months - even faster if you have lots of EC and can buy some on the Exchange.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

You don't need to double-grind. You have years to finish your Fleetbase. The fastest the base can be finished, with 200 Fleet members all working together 24 hours a day, is 7 months. 7 months!

Just play the game and do what you want. Don't worry about grinding to finish a Fleetbase that is going to take forever either way. There's no bonus for being the first one to finish your Fleetbase. You're rushing to nowhere.

why would i be playing stf's 600 times if it didnt reward dilith?
once or twice maybe but, over and over again? once i get the gear i only play for the dilith

if it didnt reward dilith, its not like i have new missions to do , i finished all but the new fe in my first week of playing.

took me 8 days to get to lev 50 and i had finished all of this games story.

so i grind stf for gear and DILITHIUM
i grind fleet actions for FLEET MARKS

if they didnt reward those why would i be playing them over and over again?

Right- 52.5 days (@8000 dilith a day) at current zen prices to 'earn' 2000 zen for the modules.
You still don't get a gucci console when you purchase the fleet ship, that comes from a c-store purchase ship @ another 2000 (more or less) zen.

Just pray real hard that the current zen exchange rate won't skyrocket as your grinding dilith to buy those fleet upgrade modules.

OH, also cant forget all the FC's you have to 'earn' to but that shiny new ship.

    $$$
    It all adds up.

That's assuming you want the particular Console that ship is offering. I, personally, don't use most of the Consoles I have gotten from the various ships I own.

As far as the FCs, you earn them simply by contributing to the base; I currently have over 400,000 - not to mention the various ones you can earn from Lockboxes, etc.

You still at this? Let's take it slow this time perhaps that helps you understand:

    - Few here will deny that 20$ for a ship is pretty much. Especially for a ship that's not an account unlock and basically an empty shell without specials or consoles. There's tons of threads here that agree with that.
    - Few here will deny that grinding the 400k+ dilithium is a pain, except for a couple no-lifers and long-time veterans for whom this is small change.
    - Few here will deny that STO's content is extremly repetetive and grindy, except for people who actually like it that way.

There are reasons why you don't see lots of fleet ships around yet, and those that you see are usually either piloted by long-time vets, PvPers who don't have an issue with paying to win, or simply the few lucky to have too much money to burn to worry about 20 bucks.

    BUT:
You totally fail to see the other side of the issue!
    - If Cryptic drastically lowered the prices and everyone could get the ships for free ... who's going to actually pay for anything anymore? How are they supposed to earn money?
No money influx, no game, and no new content at all, no bug fixes ... nothing.

    - If Cryptic drastically lowered the prices and everyone could get the ships now ... what are those people going to play for? If you have the best, what goals are left to pursue?
No goals, no reason to play, no more players, no more game ... nothing.

The WHOLE GAME is run around the simple question of "grind for it, or pay for it".
The grind HAS to be hard to make any sense, or they'd have to remove the option completely.
As, again, if nobody actually buys stuff with real money, Crypic will operate at a loss, and PWE will probably like that idea a lot ... NOT!

And let's not forget the main issue why this is so hilarious:
OP not only asks for a reduced price, he DEMANDED that they lower the price so much that he can get the ships NOW! For FREE! With NO EFFORT!

Seriously, if you want instant gratification, then put your money where your mouth is and pay.
And if you don't want to pay, then accept that you'll not be the first to fly around in that shiny new ship, but will have to be patient.
And ... if you tell me that you're not having fun unless you can have everything NOW and for FREE ... then I'll call you a spoiled brat with entitlement issues. Coming from an F2P player here, too, btw.
And ... if you tell me that you're not having fun playing and just stick around for the rewards ... then i'll just go for a triple-facepalm - what the hell are you playing a game for that you're not having fun playing? YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG! MOVE ON!

TL;DR: Your mommy lied to you - you're not special! You don't deserve everything in the world to be laid at your feet. Grow up! Life's a mean *****, and even game companies are only out for your money. Oh, and there is no Santa.

Thank you. My fleet is maybe 20 people, and some with multiple accounts and some in other countries. Alot of us are doing what we can but face it it seems my module is the tip of the ice berg. things are taking to long or cost too much. it's taking the fun out of the game

I'M DEMANDING A REASONABLE PRICE. AS I SAID BEFORE I DON"T EXPECT TO GET THE ODDY OR THE GAL RIGHT WAY BUY MY FLEET RIGHT NOW I COULD GET THE CHEYENNE BUT SHE COST THE SAME AS THE GAL. I KNOW THEY AVE TO FUN THINGS THAT WHY I SAID LOWER THE PRICE OR HAVE THE FLEET MODULE JUST BE THE UNLOCKABLE TO BUILD THE SHIPS. ONCE AGAIN A CHEYENNE FLEET VERSION IS THE SAME NOW AS A SHIP BUNDLE PACK. I'M TRIED OF PEOPLE SAYING THAT I'M SAYING I'M ENTITLED TO HAVING EVERYTHING NOW I AM NOT. MY FLEET HAS ALREADY EXPENDED ALOT AND ALOT OF GRINDING TO HAVE WHAT WE HAVE YET MORE IS REQUIRED TO FULLY USE WHAT WE HAVE. AND FLEKH I BET YOUR A SUBSCRIBER OR PART OF A LARGE FLEET OR HAVE A GOOD PAYING STABLE JOB. I HAVE NONE DESPITE MY BEST ATTEMPTS. AS I GRIND FOR DILITHIUM i WORK HARD TO GET WHAT 20000 AND THAT IS JUST LESS THEN 100 ZEN, SO 1900 MORE TO GO AND OH HOW MUCH IN DATA SAMPLES, FLEET MARKS, DOFFS, TURRETS, ETC. ALL FOR JUST ONE SHIP I WILL SAY AGAIN.

    R I P O F F.

Now STO has great potential and look forward to the future but the devs made some big mistakes on how some of this stuff came out and they can fix it.
