Is there ever any possibility of ultra-rares through means other than chance boxes?

Just for example, a lengthy chain with ultrarares as a crit success on a repeatable at the end, similar to the colonial chains?
Perhaps if anybody has suggestions for how such a hypothetical 'ultra-rare chain' could look/operate could be posted here.


I'm thinking specifically about the ultra rare conn officer, I really fancy 3 of them, but can't spare the 400m+ at the minute :P

    Don't you think there would be more than 2 or 3 of them on the exchange if there was another possibility to get them? :D

    Open the packs from general recruitment, that's the only way.

    Yes, I know that that is currently the only way to get the ultra rares.
    Perhaps the title wasn't clear enough, but I am asking if there is any plans, or possibility of plans to have such a method of acquisition as described implemented in the foreseeable future.

    There's a chance to get them from the doffgrinder as well.

    Why would they do that? URs are part of PWE's monetization strategy. I'm not criticizing it, just saying, there is no free lunch. Or rather, if there is a free lunch, don't complain about the gravy.
