What is Set Focus?

Season 6 has a new feature called Focus, which can be set by right-clicking your character icon ingame.

What is it? I have not seen any discussion of what this new feature does, but it is mentioned in Branflakes' July 26 release notes:

"Added bindable commands for Set Focus Target, Select Focus Target, and Clear Focus Target".

Its a new User Interface element that lets you keep a target you 'pinned/focused' off to one side while you target other people or npcs. You can always click back on the pinned person or npc you focused to instantly re target them without having to find them again in space or on a ground map.

You may also be able to use macros to interact with the pinned target as well, although I haven't explored that.

There is a small thumb-tack icon on the left side of your target UI element (beside the person/npc's picture). Click it and you'll see the pinned/focus ui element pop up.

Remember you can re position your whole UI by pressing F12 (as the element may be hidden under another thing if you have moved stuff around previously).

No problem. The more people that know about it the better. Especially for the No-Win Scenario event - as it helps people keep an eye on the civilian vessel (when its pinned/focused) while being able to target the hostiles and their fellow allies.

I'd grab some pictures for you of it in action but I'm not at home atm. =)

Thanks-that info's gonna be really helpful in the no-win (as you said) and in the starbase red alert (so I can heal the starbase)
