I went off topic in another post so figured I'd post this here. This was bugged on tribble pre-s6, there hasn't seemed to be any effort to resolve. This is obviously a "we didn't want to spend anytime on KDF" so f-them bug. It's annoying, when the HUD is blue the game runs slower. Is this ever going to be addressed and fixed? Ideally before S7, kthx
It was indicated to me previously that this only happens in Ker'rat - is that not the case? I'm trying to come up with repro steps to pass to our Software/UI guys.

It happens on any regular space PvP map. We have a Fleet PvP night every Thursday in my Fleet, and last Thusday (7/19/12) KDF players were reporting their HUDs being Blue randomly at the start of private Space PvP mataches that used both the 'Briar Patch' and Cracked Planetoid' PvP maps.

Regardless of the cause, can you guys please consider making this an OPTION for the KDF? I now know of 3 people who refuse to play KDF because of the HUD and that intense red. They love the ships, the lore... but can't stand the strain the red causes.
basically when an arena map loads, on one of my tacts it's red on the other it's blue (at load - I can frap and upload as proof if needed.) If I get SS'd/AMS'd and clear targets my new tact (selena) turns from red to blue. My old tact, gahh, is blue from the start.
I just received an email from QA that they've been able to reliably reproduce this issue under one certain set of circumstances. If you wish to limit your exposure to it, avoid the following:
Do not press ESC while under the effects of Confuse (from Scramble Sensors or Antimatter Spread).
The exact steps to repro this have been sent to our Software team. Hopefully a fix can be quickly tracked down and implemented.
I suspect there are additional circumstances that can cause this to happen. If anyone has more info on how to reproduce those, I'm all ears!

could this also be the trigger for the weapon lockup with scramble sensors?

It happened to me in a private match on Assimilated cruiser. It was nice and normal, til i got nailed and respawned. after the respawn it was all Fed blue.

At the beginning of any PvP map I've gone to (eg C&H) it instantly pulls up the fed UI. While I occassionaly do hit ESC, I'm not under the effect to start matches.

so far every death has a chance to proc a blue ui lol. a death also has a chance to make the ui red again. everything that makes your ui disappear, a death, a warp out, a map change, all seems to have a chance to make your ui blue. im almost certain that this has happened in the fleet pve content too. it appears to happen everywhere.

Fantastic. This has to be one of the best/fastest responses we've gotten on an issue. THANKS!!!!!!!
i think the blue ui might have something to do with how you transition to a qued pve or pvp map. your ship now warps or your character beams up now when the qued mission starts as of season 6, before you just kind of disappeared and got a loading screen. perhaps procedural code in that warp/transport sequence is causing the ui flip flopping.
Aldo, the issue wasn't that it was blue rather, at least for me, the game ran slower on my kdf than fed. If I ran fraps on my kdf toons while the HUD was blue it was like the game was in slow motion. Also the UI lag/mis-clicks was more frequent. I haven't had issues frapping matches on my carebears. Hopefully frapping my kdf matches will be viable again.
I mean the people whining about not playing klink because of the red UI
Some people get headaches because of the intense color - everywhere. I'm more sympathetic towards people complaining they can't play because out of genuine pain than people complaining about being forced to buy optional, cosmetic suits - for instance.

P.S. Stop being babies about the UI color
Only way to fix it is relogging.
