Colouring problems with Tholian Silk Scarf

I just bought the Tholian Silk Scarf on my Federation engineer character, a male Rigelian. It shares its colour selection with the belt. I am using the Jupiter Veteran belt in HI (black), F3 (dark blue). That means that, if I want to customize it, the first two of the three colours on the scarf have to be those ones. And I do want to customize it, the default grey is boring.

Wait... the default grey? Yep, before you customize it, it doesn't share a colour slot with the belt.

However, the colouring behavior is not consistent between different species. Testing it on my crew:

• (Captain) Male Rigelian: Shared with belt, default is grey.
• Male Vulcan: Not shared, default is grey.
• Female Andorian: Shared with belt, default is white.
• Female Ferengi: Shared with belt, default is headdress colour.
• Female Human: Shared with belt, default is grey.
• Male Human: Shared with belt, default is visor colour.
• Male Bolian: Shared with belt, default is grey.
• Android: Shared with belt, default is grey.
• Reman and Jem'Hadar: Costume not customizable.

It seems to, by default, be coloured by one of the additional head-colour slots, but when customized it latches on to the belt colour slot. Apart from for Vulcans (and possibly some other species) where it has its own slot. It would have been nice if it had its own slot for everyone, including premium purchased species like Rigelians.

I understand that some species have more customization than others, and that there is limited data space per costume, but if nothing else there could at least have been a warning on the item box that it might share the colour slot of the belt.

This is strange as the previously existing scarfs didn't share colors with anything.

Can you use the scarf with STF outfits?

I noticed that the 25th Anniversary Warrior's Sash cannot be worn on the Omega outfit.
