Weapon modules and customization

Here's an idea, and I'm not sure where to put it. Weapons have things like [sonic] and [borg] and others. I'm thinking that all of these effects can be turned into installable modules. The damage type might be customized as well. In addition to the effects like those, an additional slot can be used for cosmetic purposes. For instance in winter a mod can be installed to make the gun look like a candy cane, or it can shoot snowflakes. In summer it can be changed into a squirt gun. On St. Patricks Day it there can be a mod that shoots clovers or rainbows, if you're into that. I'm certainly not! No, the reason why is because on St. Patricks Day leprechauns hang out at the end of rainbows with pots of gold. On Halloween there could be a cosmetic mod for sale that changes our melee weapons into chainsaws.
