Apologies if this has been asked before, I am quite new to the Forums.
I wanted to know what perks if any there are when upgrading a Fleet Starbase, in relation to the missions defending your Starbase from attacks.
Example: Say I upgraded the Fleet Starbase to Level 1 Tactical Upgrade, and as a Consequence the next time the Fleet Starbase is attacked, the Starbase automatically spawns a small squadron of Runabout's to defend itself, as we have level 1 of tthe tactical upgrade.
Is this type of upgrade possible, can they affect the level of defence a Star Base has in these mission types? It would be awsome if the final upgrade unlocks an NPC Galaxy Class Starship as a defender for the station, as well as being able to upgrade its shields, weapons, install torpedo launchers and phaser turrets, to help fleets defend against attacks.
Also buffs, such as upgrading the science levels increase your teams manouverability, sensors, hull regen, shield regen etc etc.
You won't get a galaxy, but there are several tactical upgrades that can be added by an operational asset to use including spawning an Atrox Carrier during an event.

Upgrading the Starbase itself will improve the statistics of the Starbase.
If you're interested in having powerful ships to help defend the Starbase, however, you can get those by deploying Operational Assets. Operational Assets are available from your Operations Quartermaster in the Starbase, and more Assets unlock as you level up your Starbase. Operational Assets are consumable items and they require Fleet Credits to purchase.
We don't have a Galaxy Operational Asset at the moment, but there certainly could be one in the future.
the problem I see with operational assets is that I think they are expensive for only one time use consumables... I don't know if they make a difference in battle but to gain some few more fleet marks I don't see it worth it using them as you can just finish this match and start another one in a while to easily get double or triple of the FM you would have gotten if you had used the operational assets in your previous match, and since you don't "loose" anything if the mathc goes south or you get killed and your StarBase is not affected whatever it happens I don't know if I'm missing some part of the game but I don't see it very useful to spend that amount of fleet credits in those one-time use only abilities...

I'm not sure what metrics are used to come up with a price point for some of those assets, but they cost too much for simply 1. Make it 5-packs, then we can talk. In any case, do SOMETHING.
