Greetings,
First let me make very clear this is not a topic for flaming or bash on PW or Cryptic but to address some lack of consideration and/or some issues that could be resolved if there would be good will from the developers and the all mighty Gods of PW.
Why we play this game? Because we love StarTrek, and to be honest the game is pretty good. But like all games it has its flaws and good things about it.
Bugs, are a constant problem of every game, but in this case, it is really lame that the priorities of PW is on new content (no harm on this of course) but is not a time, a corner in your studios for a little bug hunting/solving? Come on, I know you can do it.
I am not a beta player, I did played the demo when it was available and today, I am a subscriber, yes I do pay the monthly fee even if I do not need it. It is my choice.
Beta players, and LT players know very well there are very old bugs to fix, but instead new stuff comes out (cool stuff btw...at least 95% of it) but now this is turning into a cash machine, bugs are not a priority. Well, I have seen and played games where the community just got tired because of old bugs, new bugs, future bugs.
Redesign some features of the game also it would not be bad at all. The HUD is a constant spam, clicking feast of menus and options (we have permission to enter the sirius sector captain... oh really, why do you think we fly all this time to here? Just get in!
Exchange, well, tough one, there are not a a great virtual economy here, since we have so many different types of "currencies" there is nothing here. The exchange, is poorly designed, full of bugs and very limited.
Some features of it are good but others, come on, I do not know nothing about programing, but could not the exchange be better?
Instead of having 400 items of colonists (for example) and 20 of them are at 79.888 and 100 are at 81.999k, why cant we see something like: 1 bar with 25 col at 79.888 and one bar at 81.999k instead of watching 20 bars of colonists... I think you get the picture.
The 400 item limit could be increased this way, if there is a real reason to have a limit of 400 items. The most expensive items never show up if there are the same items more cheaper, in a way, this is kinda logical, but sometimes, you can have stacks of items for a bigger price and it might be cheaper then buying 1 of those items in the first page. With the 400 item limit no one will ever see that.
Doffs, oh well.... great system, very cool feature in the game, probably one of the most interesting feature, and now the starbases, it looks great too.
Why is not the doffs traits ordered by alphabetic order? Just asking...
Why we have filters in the doff window, PvE window but not on the exchange?
Why every time new content is added to the game, things that were working perfectly stop working? The exchange bug for example and probably many more.
The C-Store:
Well, I am still waiting for my tribble of borg to be available to all my characters and many other people also have items that they cannot get into new characters. Yes, I know some items is just for one character, but not the tribble for example.
It makes me wondering, that the C-Store, the core of money making have bugs... This is not a good marketing strategy... but since I already spent the money....oh well...bad luck.
I realize, just to keep one game running is a lot of work, even worst where a company like PW have so many games going. But, PW is a company that directs, and each game have their own directors, developers and so on.
Still, I do believe, it would not hurt anyone if we have a big update to fix many bugs. I cannot of course speak by the majority of players, but I do believe some would agree with me. Instead of working in the next big event or season or whatever you guys are planing, lets make a effort in fixing the bugs, refine the product, and make the game play even better, after all is all that matters, the game play.
I do understand some issues takes time, and some bugs can be really hard to fix or find a way to fix them, but when they were working, well and then they got bugged because of some new content added to the game, probably the new content was made in a hurry.
People will not stop playing the game, if you guys stop giving new content for 3 or 4 months, but if you refine it, and then give us new fresh content, and mostly important, clean content, everyone in a winner.
This is not a petition, it is a pledge to refine the game, fix the things that are broken or got broken since the last couple seasons.
Someone decided that showing off my gun on my back was a worthy investment of time and programing, well... sorry but a game is much more then graphics, and I actually have that option off. I do not care about it. I give more importance to sound for example and we all know there are still sound issues.
I could write much more about all this, but I think I made my point clear. Please fix what is broken, even the small bug can be very annoying, refine your own product, listen to your player base, after all we are the ones that know more about it, because we spend hours and hours everyday playing.
All these new content, new functions and so on, is great, but with that, more bugs come and many stay. This is bad organization from a outside person point of view.
Time pressure to release new content or new stuff into the game, is the worse enemy of a developer, with that, bugs are made. The more you listen your player base (and I am not saying you don't) the better.
The better you refine your product(s) the better.
Hell, think about the Porsche 911. That car exists for more then 50 years, the car is the same, the design changed a bit, but it got better and better over the time... and they still sell, they still are on the business...
I do hope, the developers, the bosses or anyone that is concerned about this, think a little about all that is said here.
If anyone from PW or Cryptic found that I have been too offensive, the I do sincerely apologize since that was not my intention. I just wanted to make a point.
Thank you all and best regards,

Sorry friend, thats not your call.
This is the internet. Worse, its the STO forum. The opening sentence of your OP doesn't set the tone for the conversation. Here, its every poster for himself and only the strong survive.
If I ever come to the STO forums and don't find full-on flaming, trolling, or bashing of PWE, Cryptic, or of each other going on, then I will know the end of STO is nigh.
I don't care if u flame, bash, troll or whatever, that is you, I just wanted to make my post clear.
I don't spend time writing and sharing ideas to flame or bash or whatever, but if many of us started to make really good posts about something that we really care then maybe, just maybe, STO could be even a greater game, probably the best game in PW. Also, maybe many of the Devs and directors of PW would even bother to reply to some of the threads here. I find it very funny, that people are intelligent enough to play a game like STO (even if it is not that complex, former EVE player here), and have not the insights of doing proper and quality threads addressing their problems with the game, instead of just bashing of flaming.
Critics are good, but they need to be constructive, and sorry to say, but it seams, you did not even bother to read the whole post...?
So, if is that all you care for, thank you for your contribution.
:P

That's due to a lack of moderation. We have a current moderator who can't even send a PM correctly. And staff who won;t follow up on the issue.
Some of us came here in a hopeful attempt to help folks with the game. I've tried to be helpful as much as i can but it doesn't help when the average player can put keywords into the thread title field but for some reason can;t put them into the search box. And them complains when handed links to their relevant threads even after a solution has been provided.
Anyway...
From a quick scan of what you've written, looks like what you've written has been asked for countless times over and over again in the past. Even though they say differently, Cryptic and PeeWee do not value feedback and really seem to ignore it except for the occasional "thanks"
How do I know this? I listed to the last quarterly conference call of PeeWee a few weeks ago. It was all about money. It was about their 74% gross profit and their 34% net profit. At no time was customer feedback mentioned. Nothing about retention or churn or growth. Just money and profit and percentages.
Not trying to be rude. Just heard it time and time again.
Should we make a 1 month strike then?

Wouldn't be worth the effort. Do remember that the number of folks here in the forums make up less that a single percentage of current players.
As much as we complain about them (well others. i don;t complain much about them) lockboxes are probably bringing in enough cash to run the servers, pay for the bandwidth, and all the rest. We're just the vocal ones concerning them. I;m sure Dan and the rest would be happy to see some of us go.
edit: And yes you are free to voice your opinion. Never said that you weren't. Just that if the devs were really interesting in making things better and were actually able to do so, don;t folks think that they would have done so by now? Look at Heretic for example. He took over the PvP coding and then left soon afterwards. Right after the change over. Someone else left too at about the same time (And I;m forgetting their name so please forgive me) Now talking about stuff like that is probably against the ToS/AUP but I;pm rather surprised that bells aren;t going off in the heads of more folks concerning that.
There are people in this world who can stand at an assembly line for 30 years and others who can't do the same job more then a couple before needing to do something else. There's no bells going off. It's just people living their lives and looking for new things.
