The section regarding the foundry should have been left out until it is actually working again. In fact, the trailer should not have been released until some of the game wrecking bugs have been addressed.
Want to use the exchange? Sorry, that doesn't work.
SHOCKER: It contains stuff that either isn't in, or you can't do in game. Are you honestly surprised?
Trailers for films and other games have been doing it for years, scenes/dialogue not in the actual movie, non-ingame footage etc etc.
Everything is always hyped up in advertising, which is essentially what this is.
If you're looking for a more factual representation of the game, seek out the anniversary celebration videos made by one of the STO players (whose name is escaping me) using demo record.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
Traliers shouldn't advertise a feature which isn't actually working. If an advert on TV or radio did such a thing a body like OFCOM in the UK would take action. Trailers should be representive of the product whilst also drumming up interest. Otherwise, it would be like trying to sell a ham sandwich without the ham.
Really, really underwhelming. Mainly because I know better than to expect to get the things being advertised there, but still, I couldn't help but wonder...
I'm used to the images and effects being out of whack with reality, but is there another fleet action incoming, or is this '20-man fleet action' described really the 15-Man starbase defense mission that didn't get mentioned, and a sign that Cryptic's now graduated to lying verbally in its promos? (Cause it'd be too stupid a mistake to make. I could believe someone noticed it and figured it's cheaper to not fix the audio.)

Trailers lie half the time anyway, purely to pull people in. It's better to just suppress disbelief, bias and anything else and just enjoy it.
That is all.
Was named Trek17.
Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.

There is a 20 man Starbase Fleet Defense. At least it is by private queue. I believe you may be mistaken on this one.
The Tholians on the ship, the first view of a fleet starbase, the ships flying past the window, at 1:00, are all very misleading so far.
The foundry section is...ironic.
I'd come here to tell Nagus to stop being so pessimistic about it, but you know what? I watched it. Fair game Mr Nagus, fair game.
Wow I want to play that Star Trek game, when can I play it???
As said by many peeps above, this should have been before the season was released and it actually contain stuff that is in the game....
I saw 10-20% that is in the game and the rest a complete fabrication of reality.
Also the opening scene just makes me wish they'd get rid of Sector Space and put us inside our ships while traveling between star systems instead.
Also Also, it's a pie-in-the-sky dream I know, but I would wish for the supposedly upcoming "edit your ship interior with Foundry" tech that's supposed to come with Neverwinter will also give us windows that we can look out of our ship with. It doesn't have to be like a live window to what's actively outside our ships (like other players flying around), but I think simply changing the exterior environment/skyfiles to reflect what system you're in (or just streaking stars if you're traveling between systems) would be feasible and add a TON to the game.
Eh. It's a cutscene. We've had cutscenes on bridges before (FE4). You are probably right that it could have been omitted.
Still, all in all, I think this season has been going well so far.
Someone obviously hasn't used the exchange at all...
Or played a klingon...
Or done any PvP what-so-ever since season 6 came out...
Seriously, have you done ANYTHING since this release came out? What the trailer should say is "Season 6: More bugs than new features. We'll fix it at some point."
No really, whats the point of an MMO if I can't fight my friends in it?
I AM THE HARBINGER OF HOPE!
I AM THE SWORD OF THE RIGHTOUS!
It's been confirmed Tumerboy was talking about a different trailer than this one.
I just said "the other day". This trailer came out today. So I obviously know that. However if he didnt like trailers that showed things that werent really possible in game, then the same thing applies to this one.

One little thing, apart from the things already pointed out shouldn't the web page at the end be: www.sto.perfectworld.com ?
https://youtube.com/user/MyBalkanGaming
I give it 3/10. Style, no substance.

It's the same with STO. Knowing that, it's better to just enjoy it.

The only decent voice acting was the computer...
