Season Six Fleet Aquarius Destroyer Good?

Now, we have been debating whether we should buy the Fleet Patrol Escort, or the Fleet Aquarius Destroyer. I know the Patrol is better, but we are Odyssey fans and would love the destroyer just for the novelty of it. We already have Phase quad canons, but would be happy if we could get more. Does the Aquarius come with Quad Canons? Does it come with anything? Is it good or bad? Any reccomendations anybody?

    Anything from the Fleet Shipyard are just basic ships with no added special abilities. You just get the look of the ship and a special material for the Fleet ship with added bonuses to hull, shields, and an extra console. You should be able to put Quad Cannons on the Aquarius, but actual testing of the ship will be in a few months since it from a Tier 4 Shipyard. Quad Cannons should be available from reclaiming the Sao Paulo and dismissing it over and over again or available from the Dilithium Store like the Spiral Wave Disruptor from the Galor class.

    Short answer? No.

    Long answer? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

    It's basically a Bird of Prey, but weaker, at Tier V. In other words, worthless.

    you can only put one Quad per ship
    unless they changed that just for the destoryer which I havent seen

    Its silly that the non-fleet version of this ship has to be unlocked at Tier 4. For a little more, might as well just get the fleet version since its the same Tier anyway.

    I wouldn't mind getting the Aquarius, even if its just for roleplaying purposes keeping with the theme of my Odyssey, but Tier 4....sigh... :(

    That method was used to get the blue phasers off of the TOS Enterprise ship. Also, the devs are likely to put the Quad Cannons on the Dilithium Store and only allow people that have bought the ship for it.

    Unless the Aquarius comes with a super ability or console I am not aware of, it is mostly a joke buy. I think you may have better luck tossing eggs at ships than to use the fragile Aquarius.

    My recommendation is to completely avoid this ship unless you have so much money to toss at this game that you don't mind wasting 20 US $ on a ship that is completely terrible in every way.

    The Aquarius is meant to be the equivalent of the Bird of Prey, and utterly fails at this. Every other escort in the game is better than this.

    Honestly I have to ask what where they thinking?
    I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001. :confused:

    Or... they have unrealized plans for that ship. After all, its going to be a month or two before anyone can even lay their hands on it.

    Thanks for your input everybody. We're now thinking that we'll buy another escort, and perhaps buy the regular Aquarius Destroyer with our ever-so-increasing cache of fleet credits. Or, we could maybe buy the Oddyssey Star Cruiser, which is bound to be collectable...

    And also, it should be noted that the Aquarius Escort combat pet came with a point defense system as well as Quads. Cryptic would be getting alot more clients if this destroyer came with Quad Cannons and a point defense system. THAN, it would be worth it!

    And make the PDS a built-in ability! Has the bonus of freeing up a console slot.

    Why do that when you can simply requisition a Sao Paulo, take the cannons off, delete the ship, rinse and repeat and get them for free? I have a few quads in my bank from doing that among other c-store ship consoles.

    I'd rather use the Fleet Patrol Escort. It's unlocked at Teir ONE and it's better! It doesn't die as fast and it has more firepower. I really don't understand why Aquarius only has 6 weapons... :(

    Sure the universal Boff slots are nice, but who cares? Versatility is wasted if you can't live long enough to use it.

    Because not everyone has the Sao Paulo.

    Do Quads still suck at end game? I heard they where buffed to XII level but they still don't get Accuracy modifiers.

    Quads have the best chance of getting a weapon Proc. Other than that, yeah.... The raw damage is better, but no [Acc] means the total damage isn't always that good.

    i hope i am wrong but since it will be months before anybody can make one maybe they plan on making a cstore version with a special console ability or weapon system that can have eqiupment put on tougher fleet one like the armitqage.

    I don't hope your wrong, it would be nice if the Aquarius had a specialty. It deserves it after fighting side by side with the Odyssey.
