Minus a couple of minor issues (like the bugship)
you guys overall have tremendously improved the game with starbase related content.
The PvE is challenging enough to finally encourage people to stop running around with totally bad builds (which means the skill level for the average player will have to rise.. which benefits us pvpers greatly when they decide to come to the ques!)
The new content, due to being challenging in a mostly legitimate fashion (no stupid One shots, no Gimmicks) with proper crowd control management, healing reqs, and controled DPS output have easily supplanted every single instance of PvE under the starbase stuff.
If the rest of the game were like what you guys did with the starbase content (both ground and space.. and I'm a ground hater and I STILL love the new ground stuff), you'd really have something special to work with.
So, for once I'll say without an Asterisk attached, Good Job on the PvE content.
The new fleet content we did yesterday was fun enough, challenging enough and rewarding enough (could use some small Dilitium payout though). 150 Fleet marks for me just in an hour or so of play. Plus a full inventory.
Don't expect SOB to become PvE heroes now though! Just because grinding is now the order of business in game, and fleet marks aren't available through pvp (they should be though) doesn't mean that's all we'll do.
Arawn - SOB OP *is* the new balance, whether you know so or not!
I have no complaints about the new PVE content. Possibly still a bit high respawn rate for the Tholians in the invasion zone.
My biggest gripe, is the whole "Fleet Ships" setup. Not gonna do a bunch of grinding for my Fleet, which takes months and months on end, to get a ship that is "slightly" better, but lack any special console abilities. That costs extra from the Z-Store.

^ this right here. I think I will stick to the normal retrofits. I am not a hard core PVPer. I don't need that little bit extra hull to be happy with my character. I might grind up, but I see no reason for the upgrade tokens. ( I might upgrade the ships I already paid for, but for non C-store ships. It isn't going to happen. there is no need. )
A starbase system where the balance is hard work and limited rewards. A Tholian map where at all times except the event you grind to get new gear so you can kill more Tholians.
Season 6 is going to be a fun time in STO, because in about 3-4 weeks the Starbase system design flaws are going to become blatantly obvious, and that self licking ice cream cone Tholian adventure is going to be a dud.
There is a very real Starbase problem where rewards in no way are rewarded in the quantity to balance the effort, but few stuck with Tribble long enough to discover this...
By mid August this community will be describing the Starbase system as the worst defense acquisition project in the history of Star Trek IP, but until then go farm those fleet marks!
I agree, I am really enjoying the PvE content. It's well done, and it's actually CHALLENGING. This game has been a total breeze for me until now. I'm pleased!
Besides the whole thing regarding fleet ships, I agree with you, I like the new season. Also I thought it would be a long pain staking task to earn fleet credits, but I already earned almost 9,000. I just have to wait for my fleet to reach a certain tier before I can buy the ship I want.
I was only on for a little while, and there was still enough to be impressed. There's always room for improvement sure, but this is feeling like a step in the right direction. (and not a small one either)

I'm having fun so far, but I'm already tired of grinding for marks. Mostly, I'm just killing time until the Foundry is back.
I really don't see myself logging in to STO every day to count phaser inventories and pew pew random bad guys over and over again on the same missions (even if the bad guys change).
But, I'll go to my starbase often enough to donate dilithium tips. Maybe our fleet will have a few grinders.
Hopefully, this is all just a start, since these starbases show growth potential for more with season 7.
But, considering Cryptic seems to abandon a system at launch, before moving onto something different for another season, I'm skeptical.
I'd be pleasantly surprised if that doesn't happen, meaning that we see more foundry and doff integration, as well as ways that make these places social hubs that build community.
I agree, so far i am impressed with season 6. Was getting bored with the rest of the game, now my small fleet has a long term goal, and interesting game play on both space and ground maps. Some bugs with the release, but there are always some bugs. Good job Guys.

wait till you can by stuff for base battles like fleet tricobalt launching platforms or spinal phaser lance shot for base and who ever starts base battles their base is one used in mission so the stronger their base the better the base defends itself
Anyone thinks season 6 is working properly, hasn't played it enough. :P it's full of infuriating bugs. Like the autocomplete for inviting friends to team/bridge or even for sending mail is broken.
Season 6s bugs aren't as bad as previous season ones.
Though the inability to send tells, or take screenshots with UI displayed (I have fraps but damnit I shouldn't have to use Fraps just for friggin screenshots), or open pvp challenge windows, is rather frustrating.
Still though, at least they actually did something.. unlike the last 3 seasons.

this worries me the most when the "pvp" conversion for those missions happens.
Yes, very good season. 2 missions. Good season indeed lol.
For me, this was by far the worst and most idiotic season. But im glad you guys enjoy it.
They could have put in 10 or even 20 and you'd have done them all by now, or be very close, and still be whining. Mission content is a terrible investment
They did a season right? Again new introduced bugs on systems that are totally unrelated to the content they added.
Again there are new bugs and annoyances that will never get fixed, more chat TRIBBLE problems, auto complete doesnt work properly and u cannot move ur selection in the autocompletelist with ur arrow keys anymore and simply press enter to select the right person, no we all need to do it manually now with the mouse and a click.
Chat problems from S4 that got introduced seems to have gone from bad to worse,
really mav? really? My #@%#@% good Season. The only thing i feel is new is the forum thats been $#!$! up.
Very much enjoying the new missions in the PVE queue. I actually really like the colony defense ground mission which is a first for me to rate a ground mission well (I avoid the ground stfs like the plague).
Not so sure about the tholian area. I enjoyed the hard interior (have not yet tried exterior). Tbh I would kind of prefer just the two hard missions to be added to the pve queue and skip the rest. I do understand the importance of adding worlds you can actually visit though. It's just this world...well...it ain't great. The missions are just frustrating, buggy grinds.
Mixed feelings about the cost of the new fleet ships too. I am very excited about flying an endgame nova but the cost is high. What happened to the philosophy of paying or playing for an item? Now you have to do both?
Overall, I think there is more positive than negative there. In the end...I am spending time in game and can't wait for my next login which means it must be doing something right!

If they added ten featured episodes, you would've burned through them by now and complained slightly later. I know I burned through all the KDF Season 2 Content in one day.
Also, your math skills are lacking:
The Tholian Zone added twelve missions (not including the introductory mission)
four easy
four medium
two zone-wide
two hard
This is in addition to three space and two ground missions in the PVE queue:

No Win Scenario
Starbase Fleet Defense
Starbase Blockade

Starbase Incursion
That's seventeen new missions.
that really depends on what you consider "new". almost half those new missions are on the same 2-4 maps. and i hear that those were also mostly recycled map parts (understandable) but that means they didnt have the "create" new areas. recycle! it saves the enviroment... until you realize just how bad the recycling process actually is for the enviroment... or how a lot of places go dirt cheep on the costs etc etc...
Also, i'd argue that the 5 "space and ground missions" are more like EVENTS. There's no story behind it (unlike the ground missions on the Tholian zone).
So, 12 missions, that take place on 2-4 maps. Good job all.
In a weeks time, people will grow tired of the missions, and we're back to the content drought of 2011. Only this time, we'll have to wait for ~5 months to get new story content in Season 7.
They could have put in 10 or even 20 and you'd have done them all by now, or be very close, and still be whining. Mission content is a terrible investment
Without good, immersive mission content, there's no much reason to play for me. I don't like raiding or PvP or mindlessly grinding the same daily over and over and over again.
I truly enjoy the mission content in STO; I just wish there was more of it. You know, like other MMOs with large playerbases.
I'd rather replay immersive missions on multiple characters than run the same handful of dailies/raids repeatedly.
...still unhappy regarding the fleet ships, as I was interested in getting more than one (Fleet Patrol Escort, Fleet Tactical Escort (x5 Tac consoles?!), Fleet Assault Cruiser, KDF Fleet Carrier). Unless something changes within the next few months, my game time looks like this:
They could have put in 10 or even 20 and you'd have done them all by now, or be very close, and still be whining. Mission content is a terrible investment
you assume i just wanted more missions. I dident. i wanted them to fix the [insert swear] exploration. It should have been priority in a Star Trek game. ST is about exploring the unknown. And yet we get this bull**** starbase nonsense. Oh well im gonna refrain from posting. its obvious im talking to a brick wall.
