I haven't logged on as yet, in lieu of all the log in problems and glitches, associated with today's Season 6 Update. Yet, I am sooooo hoping this is not the case and, if so, that it be remedied as quickly, if not more quickly than the last time this sorta thing happened. I'm a screen-capture junkie and the lack of proper closeups will absolutely ruin my STO starship TRIBBLE.

Server's down now, but boy do I hope they haven't started that garbage again!
I just posted about how I was getting annoyed with all the whiners, and then hours later I found out about certain fleet ships costing 4 fleet modules instead of 1. Now I'm not just whining, I'm raging. I love season 6; but to throw this Asian-F2P-ripoff junk into a good game not only angers me greatly, it makes me fear for the continuation of the game for the first time thus far.

I am having this problem with a Recon Science Vessel, fyi. Any devs have a comment on how this could have happened?

I havent noticed any changes to the warp out sequence yet.
I have, though not in the same issue as this thread. When I warped out of DS9, instead of instantly warping out, my ship turned 90 degrees to the left and then warped out.

Scrolling in to the max level is now further away than it was. I went through the trouble of posting screenshots before. It was adjusted, now it's been adjusted back. Other ships look further away too.
What really sucks is that the camera in the ship store is PERFECT. If we could zoom in to our actual ships the way we could zoom in here it would be awesome.
Take a look. Maximize the store window and look at the amazing detail on the ships. Then beam to your ship and try the same thing.

And the issue with just using the scroll wheel to zoom back in is..
Yeah, screenshot junkie that I am...no worries here, whilst flying my Armitage Class ship; whilst it might be a while before I get back to my freebie (2nd year gift) Odyssey, whilst I love the lines and look of that ship so.
Sincerely, with my Armitage, I had absolutely no problems zooming in for screenshots at all.
That said, I read something else, around here, about target cams and such not working right?
I've yet to test all that. Yet. Will do soon.:)

Getting the same issue. Load into a map and my ship fills up the screen. Zoomed in all the way by default it seems.
Actually, it's a completely different issue. The OP said the camera zoom was further out now.
And, coincidentally, using the mouse wheel to scroll either in or out (depending on which issue it is) lets you get the ship to just the point you want! Amazing!

What he means is that the furthest zoom into your ship isn't as close as it used to be prior to Season Six. This was a point of contention for several users a few months back after the camera was adjusted the first time.

Agreed. I was one of those users a few months back who was bothered quite a bit by this. They fixed the "problem" back then fairly quickly. It's funny...many users will never notice anything was different or won't care but the few who do really notice will be bothered to no end by it! Like the last time, it seems not all ships are affected, but more than one is.

Yup, this, exchange, foundry...how much stuff must we break...I should rephrase that...how much does Cryptic need to break?
There used to be a guy on these forums that had a signature line which was something along the lines of "if it's not broke, for god's sake, don't smash it with a hammer until it is." This latest fiasco seems to be an example of that.
Yeah my zoom keeps getting reset to right up close to the ship. I then have to rezoom back out again which is really annoying!
Also on the ground my scroll wheel zooms me in and out when before it would not. I cannot see any option to disable the mouse zoom? I find that annoying as I prefer to have the + & - keys set to zoom...
Does anyone else notice you no longer have the option to turn off the stupid ship winner messages now?
Does anyone else notice you no longer have the option to turn off the stupid ship winner messages now?
An off-topic aside: The option still exists, it's just been moved without notice. (And the setting apparently reset to 'on' for everyone.) Go to the mini-map dropdown (arrow) and there's a new menu item -- "Notification Settings," I think it is. You'll see a number of things you can turn on/off there. The one for the lockboxes is something like "Gameplay announcements." Something like that. (Hover the mouse -- the tooltips identify it clearly.)
As far as zoom goes, there are a number of actual issues here, it seems. One being that the maximum "zoom-in" keeps getting changed every other patch. In general, I'd like to see it simply set to let us zoom in as close as possible without clipping the camera into the ship.
Another issue is simply that it would be nice to retain the players' chosen zoom levels through some sort of variable for ground and space. Yes, we can always adjust this with the mouse-wheel (or keyboard) zoom. It's just an annoyance, but it would be a nice "quality of life" enhancement.
Then there's a third, possibly "less related" issue I've seen mentioned in this topic -- that of the zoom-level in the warp-out/in cutscenes. It seems some new angles have been added that are extremely zoomed -- one actually places the camera so far forward that my ship is almost entirely out-of-view, focusing entirely on the 'warp path' where the FX are about to occur. If you've got an Intrepid/Discovery class ship, this renders the nifty nacelle animations off-screen and makes the whole 'dramatic pause' they put in to allow for these animations completely useless.
yeah i keep on ending up on the backside of my Aquarius escort whenever i go to a new zone also has anyone had an issue with recalling there Aquarius after its been destroyed or is it just me??

The camera zoom is still not working right for maybe half of the ships. Off the top of my head, you can no longer zoom in as close to the Recon Science Vessel, the Deep Space Science Vessel, the Varanus Support Vessel, and others I'm sure. At least it still works right for my beloved Indefatigable (a T5 Defiant)! Last time something like this happened the devs responded and fixed the issue pretty quickly. I am sure they have lots of other things to do right now but I'm hoping this doesn't get forgotten, hence the bump.
Most players it seems don't notice or don't care, but those who do REALLY want this fixed!!! Thankee.

The camera zoom levels seem fine to me on all my characters and ships. The only issue that bothers me is the set zoom level not saving between map/zone transitions. I had my impulse set to the mouse wheel with a fast zoom rate set to ctrl+mouse wheel and a slow zoom rate set to alt+mouse wheel, so I'm able to easily readjust the zoom level. Just a minor annoyance for me really. Now I just use one zoom rate level with multiple settings for impulse speed.
The min/max zoom levels seem much better now though, than they were when they first changed it some time ago. Or.. maybe I just got used to it. Dunno, I don't have anything to relate to how it was anymore to remind myself.

Yes, I've been noticing this as well. Not a crippling bug or anything, just annoying.
